Monday, our residents celebrated the Festival of Lights by crafting their own beautiful diyas (lanterns) and learning about the meaning behind Diwali and Bandi Chhor Diwas. Both festivals teach us that no matter how hard the journey of truth and goodness may be, the outcome is always filled with light and positivity.

What a wonderful afternoon at Wisteria Place! ✨

Thanks to funding from the New Horizons for Seniors Program by Seniors in Canada, our residents and team came together to celebrate the best of England — complete with live Beatles music, laughter, and plenty of dancing. 🎶💃🕺

The NHSP grants help seniors stay active, engaged, and connected to their communities, and this celebration was a perfect example. Residents and team members came together to share music, laughter, and tea during this UK cultural celebration!

To complete the experience, we enjoyed a traditional British meal of fish and chips, coleslaw, and mushy peas 🐟🍟🥗. A day filled with music, culture, and community spirit — and memories we’ll cherish for a long time. 💜

This season reminded us of the love and joy that family and community bring. We were thrilled to host a big community Thanksgiving brunch at Wisteria Place, filled with laughter, warmth, and cherished moments shared with residents, their families, and friends.

This season reminds us how gratitude connects us, turns everyday moments into something meaningful, and shapes our lives. As Melody Beattie says:

With support from the New Horizons for Seniors Program by Seniors in Canada, Wisteria Place came alive with the spirit of la dolce vita for our Italian Cultural Celebration! 💙

Residents arrived dressed in white for our Italian-themed White Party, surrounded by décor inspired by the Amalfi Coast—lemons, grapes, and all things la dolce vita. 🍋🌿

With delicious food, Limoncello cocktails, and a stunning live performance by tenor Gustavo, the evening was filled with music, laughter, and connection. 🎶🍕

Did you know that being surrounded by a great community has a wide range of benefits for your physical health? In fact, research has indicated that people who belong to strong communities tend to have lower blood pressure, lower cholesterol levels, and a lower risk of obesity.
