🌈 Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day
August 28 is a day to honor and remember the beloved pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 🐾❤️

Whether it’s been days, months, or years, the bond we share with our pets lives on forever. Today, we hold space for the joy they brought, the love they gave, and the pawprints they left on our hearts.

💬 If you'd like to share a photo or memory of a pet you've loved and lost, we’d be honoured to remember them with you.

Gone from our arms, but never from our hearts. 💞

🐾 International Blind Dog Day 🐶❤️
August 23 is a day to celebrate the courage, resilience, and love of blind dogs everywhere!

Blindness doesn’t stop these amazing pups from living full, happy lives. With a little support and a lot of love, blind dogs can thrive — navigating the world using their other senses and trusting the humans who care for them.

Helpful tips for caring for a blind dog:
• Keep their environment consistent 🏡
• Use sound and scent cues 🛎️👃
• Add textured rugs or mats to help them navigate
• Announce yourself before touching them to avoid startling

If you’re lucky enough to share your life with a blind dog, today’s the perfect day to give them an extra cuddle 💙

🎉 Exciting news — Dr. Galloway is preparing to welcome baby #2 this fall!

In preparation of her maternity leave, come September, she’ll be focusing on catching up on surgical cases before beginning her leave in October, this means her appointment availability will be limited over the next few weeks. During her maternity leave, Dr. Galloway will be entrusting her patients to Dr. Millar, Dr. Goodman, and Dr. Chen, who have been fully updated on all her cases to to ensure continuity of care, and we remain committed to providing the same thoughtful and compassionate service you’ve come to expect.

And don’t worry — even during maternity leave, Dr. Galloway will still be involved behind the scenes and part of our daily operations (we can’t keep her away for long!).

Thank you for your continued support during this exciting time!

🩺💉 Why Did My Vet Recommend Pre-Anesthetic Bloodwork? 💉🩺

If your vet recommended pre-anesthetic bloodwork, you might be wondering—is it really necessary, especially for a young and healthy dog?
The answer: yes!

Even young pets can have hidden health issues that aren’t visible during a physical exam. Pre-anesthetic bloodwork helps us:

✅ Check organ function (especially liver and kidneys)
✅ Detect underlying conditions early
✅ Choose safe anesthetic protocols tailored to your pet
✅ Reduce risk and improve recovery

Think of it as an extra safety net—because your pet’s well-being means everything to us. 💙

If you have questions about your pet’s upcoming procedure, don’t hesitate to ask!

🐶🐱 August 6 is Fresh Breath Day! 🦷💨

Bad breath in pets isn’t just a smelly problem — it can be a sign of dental disease. Over 70% of cats and 80% of dogs show signs of oral health issues by age 3! 😬

🪥 Here’s how to keep your pet’s breath fresh and their smile healthy:
✔️ Regular dental check-ups
✔️ Professional cleanings
✔️ Brushing at home (yes, it’s possible!)
✔️ Dental-friendly treats & diets

Fresh breath = a healthier, happier pet 💙
