Come visit us at our gorgeous boutique hospital facility on the corner of Gilbert Road and Francis Road in Richmond, BC. We are a family run veterinary hospital, founded in 1974 by Dr Breanne Galloway’s late father (Dr Robert Galloway). We currently have three veterinarians on staff: Dr. Breanne Galloway (of course), Dr. Teresa Millar who has been with us since 2005 and Dr. Robin Goodman who recently joined the team in 2024.

Halloween is fun for us—but it can be tricky for our pets! 🐾 Here are a few ways to keep your furry friends safe this spooky season:

🕯️ Keep candy out of reach – Chocolate and sugar-free treats (xylitol) are toxic to pets.
🎭 Costume comfort – Make sure your pet's costumes don’t restrict breathing, vision, or movement.
🚪 Door dashing danger – With all the visitors, pets can slip out quickly. Keep them in a safe, quiet room.
💡 Glow sticks & decorations – Chewed glow sticks or fake cobwebs can cause tummy troubles.
🍬 Pet-safe treats only – If you want them to celebrate too, stick with vet-approved goodies.

🦃🐾 Thanksgiving is a time for family, food, and furry friends! While we all love to share, some holiday treats and traditions can be dangerous for pets. Here are a few tips to keep your pets safe this Thanksgiving:

✅ Keep food out of reach – Chocolate, onions, garlic, grapes, and turkey bones can be toxic.
✅ Watch the treats – Rich and fatty foods can upset tummies or cause pancreatitis.
✅ Create a safe space – Guests, noise, and commotion can stress pets; provide a quiet area for them to relax.

💭 Rabies is primarily spread by wild animals.

In North America, rabies is most often carried by raccoons, bats, skunks, and foxes. Pets can become exposed if they encounter wildlife—and without protection, the consequences are devastating.

⚠️ Rabies is almost always fatal once symptoms appear. There is no cure. That’s why prevention through vaccination is absolutely critical. Vaccinating your pets not only safeguards their lives but also protects your family and community.
