We are committed to providing exceptional speech and language services to children of all ages and with different levels of abilities. We believe that successful communicators are those who can reflect on and consciously ponder about how communication works. Through our individualized and evidence-based services, we enable children to develop self-awareness and critical thinking skills as they apply their communication skills. This will help them to succeed both academically and socially across different settings.

This past Tuesday, we wrapped up the first series of our Cantonese parent support group at Speech Meta!

We explored topics such as redefining autism, neurodiversity, masking, disclosure, as well as how to identify each child’s strengths and better understand their individual needs.

Parents also shared how meaningful it was to learn about different topics, participate in the activities and connect with others who have similar experiences. After each session, families stayed behind to chat, exchange stories, and offer one another support.

In just three sessions, we witnessed a noticeable shift in parents’ understanding, confidence, and sense of community. We’re now in the process of planning our next series! If you are a Speech Meta client and would like to join our free Cantonese support group, please DM us! We look forward to hearing from you.

Brain Power Run Club Season 1 Track Meet = pure magic on the track today. 🏅✨

We started this as a fun way to build a social group that gets kids moving. The heart of it? Growth mindset, teamwork, and collaborative, supportive communication between friends.

Our Season 1 Track Meet brought it all together:

We are so incredibly proud of these kids for their hard work, dedication, and showing up for each other. You cheered, supported, tried again after setbacks, and talked about your learning like the little leaders you are.

And to our volunteers… we couldn’t do this without you. Your energy, patience, cheers, and belief in every child didn’t go unnoticed🌟🙏

Movement brought us together, mindset and friendship kept us here. On to Season 2. 💙🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️✨

💎 Happy Tuesday!!

Today this client worked on the /s/ sound in both the initial and final positions of words. Since he is fascinated by rocks and gems, we built a special word list together using his favorite topic. He was so excited about it that he asked to print two copies, one for home practice and one to keep. That kind of enthusiasm is such a joy to see, and what’s best is that he’s intrinsically motivated to practice this list of words!

✨ a reminder that practice can be more engaging for the child when you connect goals to your child’s interests. ❤️

This morning, our team of OGs, assistants, and volunteers hosted a literacy summer camp at Speech Meta Vancouver! A big thank you to June for leading the camp and all the support that we received from our team. The kids had a wonderful time using structured literacy techniques and multisensory strategies to work toward their literacy goals. What a great way to build confidence before school starts again in September! ❤️

Sticker Booth at Speech Meta 😍

It’s one of those weeks where some of our own kids aren’t in camp so guess where they ended up? 👀 Yup, at work with us! 💛

What started as a quiet morning of doodling quickly turned into a sticker booth! These handmade stickers were given to clients after class.

It’s amazing how creativity grows when kids have space to play, even in the middle of a workday. 🌼 it’s fun to see them sharing their creations with others!
