Thank you for coming to my page! In short it's all about BALANCE.

If you are reading this you are likely interested or curious about Alternative Medicine, Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture and/or Health in general. Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years and is deeply rooted in the Taoist beliefs; living in harmony and accordance with the natural flow of the universe. The general philosophy behind acupuncture treatment is that energy pathways or meridians circulate around the body. These meridians contain our energy flow or “Qi”. When this “Qi” is not flowing smoothly or is blocked, that is when imbalance or illness occurs. With the insertion of fine needles at various acupuncture points on these pathways, the energy can be moved or directed to where it is needed the most. In this way, the body’s balance can be restored and the illness resolved. Having balance in all aspects in life and not only in terms of health is very important and is what I strive for. We can't always be perfect but we can be more aware of our own body and how we take care off it. My Education and Experience:

Before getting my acupuncture license, I graduated from York University with a Bachelor degree in Kinesiology and Health Science (Specialized Honours)

After finishing my 3 year acupuncturist program at the International School of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver I decided I would go to Taiwan and do an internship at a highly regarded Taipei Hospital (RenAi) in Taiwan under the guidance of Dr. Chen (Chief Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the hospital). Dr. Chen works hand-in-hand with western Medical Doctors to treat all types of patients but his main specialty is treating stroke patients and chronic diseases. As Dr. Chen's intern I gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience from my time with him which has been monumental in progressing my passion and knowledge for Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine which I carry on to treating my own patients today. My mentor, as well clinical instructor in Vancouver, Dr. May Wang has over 20 years of experience. She successfully treats a variety of patients at her clinic from acute and chronic pain to infertility to seasonal and food allergies. (www.acupuncture-bc.com)

My specialty is in treating all types of pain and soft tissue injuries using a special technique called soft tissue mobilization therapy in combination with acupuncture, rehabilitation therapy exercises and self-regulation techniques. As an acupuncturist I have personally treated many problems including: stress, allergies, insomnia, vertigo, headaches, chronic back pain, sciatica, hip and knee pain, arthritis pain, tennis elbow, trigger finger, frozen shoulder, heels spurs/ planter fasciitis, acute injuries (sprains, car accidents) as well as facial rejuvenation. Through the comprehensive diagnosis process comprising of asking questions about your overall health, looking at your tongue and feeling your pulse we can piece together how to effectively treat you as an individual. My passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture came about after realizing that western conventional medicine and modalities can be very limiting and sometimes come with many side effects from pharmaceuticals, surgery, etc. Not only can many problems be treated by acupuncture; they are treated with great effectiveness without the use of any drugs and minimal to no side-effects. Acupuncture is a great alternative and natural solution! Balanced body, mind, spirit; your key to Optimal Health! I really appreciate all the support and will definitely take in all the feedback to improve this page. CALL NOW TO BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT! 778-968-3913

[Chinese Herbs/Medicine]
Chinese Medicine has been a part of my life since I was a very young child. I still remember going over to my grandma’s and smelling that funky smelling soup. 🍵 Now I know exactly what it’s all about; as well as why my grandma looks so much younger than she actually is. 👍🏼
Acupuncture along with Chinese herbal medicine is a great combo for prevention, acute, and chronic problems. Balancing and making sure your body is functioning optimally is key!
Have you taken Chinese herbal medicine or acupuncture before? What has your experience been? What would you like to know more about? Comment below. 👇🏼

[TCM Pulse Taking/Tongue Diagnosis]
I love new patients asking me questions about why am I taking their pulse and looking at their tongue. Both these diagnosis methods are very important in Traditional Chinese Medicine as it shows us what is going on inside the body in addition to confirming and solidifying our diagnosis.

We not only check for the rate of the pulse but also the quality of the pulse (e.g. depth, fluidity, strength)

As for the tongue, different areas of the tongue correspond to different TCM organs/meridians. We also look at the tongue body colour, shape, moisture and features; as well as tongue coating thickness, colour, and root.

If you have any question about tongue and pulse diagnosis in Traditional Chinese Medicine feel free to let me know. 😝

My favorite acupuncture point! Have you had this point done by your acupuncturist before? If you haven’t you must try!

Yin Tang, the third eye Chakra, the most zen acupuncture point ever! Needling it for 30 minutes feels like a day at the spa.

Even the most decorated Olympian in the world Michael Phelps needs Cupping!

Why not try this ancient Chinese healing method today!

Cupping uses glass or plastic cups to create a negative pressure or suction on the skin surface. It is used to help relieve sore and tight muscles by increasing blood circulation to specific areas and helps to draw out toxins from the body. It can also be used to help the body's general circulation if placed on the specific 'Meridian' points along the back.

The cups are usually left on the skin for 5-10minutes; after taking the cups off there may be some dark red or purple 'spots/bruises' left from the cupping which in normal cases will go away in 5-10days. These spots are usually painless but may feel slightly sore.

There are many types of cupping including: "stationary/dry" cupping (most common; seen in the pictures), moving cupping, flash cupping, wet/bleeding cupping

If you have any questions about cupping or any other Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities like Acupuncture, please let me know.

Next time you see circular marks on the back or shoulders of people, you will know what it is!

Stay healthy everyone, both physically and mentally! Try this - Do one positive thing for someone in your life each and everyday; even if it is as simple as giving some time to sincerely listen to someone in need.
