PART TWO: This is where the magic happens. It's time to take action on the amazing "50 list" you've created. What's one thing you can do in the next week to bring you closer to each goal you've listed? Write it down.

Now that you've got an action, look at it again. Does it still interest you? Is it something you want to do? If not, no stress. Move on to the next goal. If so- get after it and make it happen!

Rinse & repeat. You've got this✌️ .

3 years ago I authored a course on Leadership and Emotional Intelligence for Health Care Professionals. I had no idea how it was going to pan out, it was just something that always interested me. Once finished, I hated how it turned out, so I shelved it.

Was it a waste of time? It turns out, not at all. It sparked a journey.

Here I am, 3 years later, finishing the delivery of week 6/6 of the same leadership course I created and taught for a group of 63 care professionals working in senior and dementia care in the U.K. There is no way I could have predicted that it would unfold this way.

Moral of the story: we can’t predict the future so keep plugging away, and results may come in ways you can’t expect.

This picture was taken two months ago on one of my last nights in Dubai. This picture is special to me. It was taken on a night out with some of my closest friends, who are all so different and so unique in their own ways.

5 years earlier, I uprooted my life on a whim. People thought I was crazy; they couldn’t understand why I would drop a business and a comfortable life I had built to take on a new challenge. The truth is, I didn’t know why either. I just knew that I had to do it. It was fu***ng hard. But we made it work and looking back, it was incredible.

5 years later- we did it again. Within less than a month we uprooted our lives (this time with some family additions) and moved back to Canada. The truth is, it hasn’t been easy. It’s been fu***ng hard. I don’t have that same incredulous feeling. But one thing I do know, is that we will make it through and look back on these hard moments relishing the experience and our resilience.

So, why am I sharing this?

If this resonates with you: you are struggling, feeling stuck or lost for whatever reason, remember to stay true to you and forge your own path. Don’t do what people expect you to do. Do what you want to do. Be authentic and fit in, in your own way. Look for the silver lining. Things will come your way in ways you’re not expecting.

Holy Smokes! I did something I never dreamed I would actually do. My book “What To Do When You Don’t Know What You’re Doing” is now live on Amazon! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CCC9GS3R The link is also in my IG description. Any support would be greatly appreciated!

Here’s how it came to be:

It was early 2009, I had just finished my undergraduate degree and the world was my oyster. I was supposed to be buzzing with excitement at the possibilities that were going to be available for me, but I wasn’t.

I had just moved home from Europe after realizing my “dream job” wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. I was back home living with my parents, my girlfriend and I had just broken up and I was working a job that I knew wasn’t what I wanted long term…I had no clue what I was doing, or where I was going. Anxiety, depression were overwhelming me and I was beaten down.

I was frustrated, confused, scared and desperately searching high and low for answers; for anything that would help me crawl out of this deep and dark pit.

Despite 8 months of hell, slowly but surely the answers started coming and things started moving for me. Since then, there have been multiple ups, downs and all arounds. The highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Through it all: authenticity, setting goals, taking on new challenges, keeping faith, reflecting and staying true to who I am, what I’m about always steered me in the right direction.

Although I wouldn’t change a thing, looking back, the resources and support that were available to me didn’t give me exactly what I needed. 14 years later, I’ve put together this book.

In truth, I started this 14 years ago but didn’t have the knowledge, experience or resources to make it a reality. This is that missing link in my journey. I really hope this can help you in your times of need, too.

I honestly don’t know what to write, but I feel like I need to acknowledge the group of guys that have become a 2nd family for me in Dubai: The 7am Degenerates… or did we call ourselves the Morning Glories?
you show up every morning and lead our social club. More than a coach, you’re a great friend. Thanks for always supporting us.
Yazan(doesn’t have IG): our team captain, I need to acknowledge your awe inspiring presence. What a dude.
There are too many people missing from this picture but thanks to my teammates who help support me through the ups and downs both in life and on the mats.
I guess this means I need to get better at BJJ now?
