VCH - Early Childhood Mental Health - Richmond Hospital

We are a team of psychiatrists and allied health professionals that deal with:

-Issues relating to uncontrollable temper tantrums; defiance; hostility; sibling rivalry; extreme shyness; difficulty separating from parent

-Behavioral patterns that affect sleeping; feeding; toilet training

-Concerns about anxiety; depression; phobias; trauma

-Issues relating to attachment and bonding

-Parent-child relationship difficulties

Assessment and treatment is provided in the context of the child's family and in collaboration with other community service providers as needed. We are a designate teaching site for UBC Faculty of Medicine. You or your community provider may call to request information about the referral. A referral from your doctor will be needed. We are open Monday-Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 am (flexible). We offer services in English and French, and interpreters are available in several other languages. First Appointment: Our clinic is on the ground floor of the hospital. Your first appointment usually takes 1.5 hour. Please come early to fill out paperwork. We will then arrange for further treatment as needed. Parking Information: Parking permits are provided if you need a space close to the clinic in the hospital parking grounds. Please note the permit is not for free parking. Please ask our receptionist for one when you come if needed. This program is part of Vancouver Coastal Health.
