Beach Day at Rosewood RVilla!
Who says you have to travel to enjoy the beach? On this hot summer day, we brought the beach to us! Residents dressed up in their best beachwear — sunhats, and bright colours — and enjoyed a fun afternoon filled with cool drinks, tasty snacks, and plenty of laughs.
These themed socials aren’t just about having fun (though we had plenty of that!) — they’re about connection, creativity, and making memories together. Events like these lift spirits, spark conversation, and give everyone a reason to smile.

Right outside our door stands our stunning Rose of Sharon Tree, now in full bloom — and what a joy it brings to our Residents! Its soft, delicate flowers and graceful shape are a daily reminder of nature’s beauty.
Did you know?
• The Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus syriacus) is known for blooming late in the summer, bringing colour when many other flowers have faded.
• It’s hardy and low-maintenance, thriving year after year with little care.
• Its blossoms attract butterflies and hummingbirds, adding even more life and movement to our gardens.
For our Residents, simply looking out the window or sitting nearby to admire the blooms brings peace, smiles, and wonderful conversation. It’s a living piece of art that brightens our days. 🌺

Meet Rhys Thompson — Local Ripley Teen Selling Fresh Corn!
At just $7 a dozen, Rhys’s sweet corn is not only a delicious summer treat, it’s also a wonderful way to support a local young entrepreneur. We took a little trip down Bruce Rd #6 to pick some up and couldn’t be happier to help this hardworking teen.
Why we love fresh corn:

🧼 Healthy Tips for Seniors!

Yesterday we learned that one of the simplest — yet most powerful — ways to stay healthy is proper hand washing. Washing your hands regularly helps prevent the spread of germs, keeps colds and flu away, and protects those around you.
A big thank you to Kristie from Grey Bruce Public Health for visiting us and teaching us how to wash our hands effectively. The Glo Germ machine was fascinating — it showed us just how many spots we can miss if we don’t take our time and wash thoroughly. What an eye-opening (and glowing!) experience! ✨
Let’s all keep those hands clean and healthy!

Happy Miracle Treat Day!
Today we celebrated Miracle Treat Day — the sweetest way to make a difference! Every Blizzard® Treat sold helps support local children’s hospitals through the Children’s Miracle Network, bringing hope and care to kids who need it most. 💛
A huge shout-out to Kincardine Dairy Queen for making our pre-order so easy! They went above and beyond — even freezing our Blizzards so we could get back to Ripley without them melting. Now that’s service with a smile! 😊

St. John Ambulance’s Therapy Dog Program brings comfort, joy, and companionship to seniors in retirement homes and care facilities.
These specially trained dogs, along with their volunteer handlers, visit residents to:
• Reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation
• Lower stress and anxiety
• Encourage conversation and smiles
• Spark happy memories of past pets
For many seniors, a visit from a therapy dog can be the highlight of the week — a warm reminder that love comes on four paws. ❤️🐶
