🚨 The Bullsh*t You’ve Been Told — and The Bullsh*t You Still Believe About Lifestyle 🚨
Take this from someone who’s been obsessed with lifestyle, nutrition, and exercise for 32 years…
It’s time to cut through the noise.
🧂 Salt isn’t the enemy.
Low-sodium diets are failing us. The right kind of salt — real, mineral-rich sea salt — supports hydration, energy, and nerve health.
🥑 Fats are healthy.
Good fats (olive oil, avocado, wild fish, grass-fed butter, nuts) are essential for hormones, heart, and brain health. What kills us are processed, hydrogenated fats — not fat itself.
🍗 Protein matters.
You don’t need to eat like a carnivore or a bodybuilder. But protein should be the first thing on your plate and your first two bites. It keeps you strong, stable, and satisfied.
🍠 Carbohydrates aren’t the enemy.
It’s the type of carbs that matter. Whole foods like potatoes, rice, fruit, legumes — fuel your body. Ultra-processed carbs? Cheap now, but expensive later. You’ll pay the price with your health.
👑 Exercise is the queen — nutrition is the king. You can’t out-train a bad diet. Move your body every day, but feed it like it matters.
🧃 Juice ≠ health.
Even “natural” juice spikes insulin like soda. If you want to drink your vitamins, blend the whole fruit. Keep the fiber.
☀️ The sun is medicine.
Get 20–30 minutes of sunshine daily when you can. It boosts mood, heart health, immunity, and hormones protects against cancer . In New Brunswick, we don’t make Vitamin D3 before June or after August. And sunscreen blocks it completely.
👉 Take Vitamin D3 (5,000 IU) with K2 daily through fall and winter.
💪 Muscle is the organ of longevity.
You can’t age well without resistance training. Muscle is your armour. It’s your independence. It’s your metabolism.
💊 Supplements aren’t magic — but they’re necessary.
They’re called supplements because they fill the gaps. And in today’s world of stress, poor sleep, processed food, alcohol, and meds… Most people need them just to stay balanced.
🍷 Alcohol is not healthy.
Sorry to burst your bubble… Over 5,000 studies reviewed show no amount of alcohol has health benefits — not even red wine. Now, I’m not telling you to never drink. But let’s be honest — 20 years ago it was “a glass or two on the weekend.” Now it’s five nights a week. That has a cost: metabolism, hormones, fat gain, liver health, cancer risk. Alcohol and health don’t coexist. Period.
💰 Invest in your health — not just your lifestyle.
People will finance a new phone or SUV before they’ll invest in their health. You can have a gym membership for $7 bi-weekly, walking is free and I get it life is expensive, but some non-essential material is also. You can eat real food without fancy “organic” labels. Eating clean is cheaper long-term — and the best investment you’ll ever make.
👨⚕️ Stop blaming — or counting on — your doctor.
If you want real health, this needs to stop. Doctors don’t specialize in nutrition or lifestyle. The system treats symptoms — it patches, it doesn’t rebuild. There are amazing doctors out there changing this, but… You are the CEO of your own health. When it’s about lifestyle, nutrition, and exercise — talk to someone who actually lives and breathes it in the prevention landscape.
⚖️ “Calories in, calories out” is all that matters.
Wrong. Hormones, sleep, stress, and inflammation change how your body burns fuel. Two people can eat the same calories — one thrives, the other crashes. Plus, we do not eat calories; we need to eat whole foods.
🍽️ You need to eat every 2–3 hours.
False. Constant snacking keeps insulin high and locks your fat stores. If you work long enough with a coach, you learn how to listen to your body to know when you’re actually hungry versus when it’s just cravings talking...snacking can be useful with some at the beginning, not long term.
🌅 Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Not always. For some, it’s grounding. For others, delaying breakfast improves insulin and focus. There’s no universal rule.
🧓 Aging automatically means decline.
It’s not age — it’s NEGLECT. Your body wants to heal and rebuild. With strength, nutrition, and recovery, your 50s can outperform your 30s and I live it every day so do my clients.
🌱 All plant-based eating is healthy.
Whole plants are great. But fake meats, seed oils, soy isolates, and processed “vegan” foods? Not so much. Nature makes plants healthy — factories make them harmful.
😴 Sleep is optional — you can catch up later.
Nope. One bad week of sleep wrecks your hormones, cravings, and blood sugar. You can’t “bank” sleep. You must protect it nightly.
🧠 Mental and physical health are separate.
Not a chance. Your gut, hormones, and inflammation affect your mood just as much as your brain chemistry. You can’t fix one while ignoring the other.
🧼 Detoxes and juice cleanses reset your body.
Your liver and kidneys are the detox system. You don’t need a cleanse — you need to stop toxifying yourself every day.
🏃♂️ Cardio is the best way to lose fat.
Cardio helps — but muscle changes everything. Resistance training builds your metabolism, your shape, and your longevity.
💭 Willpower is the key to success.
Wrong again. It’s not willpower — it’s structure. You become what you surround yourself with. Environment beats motivation every single time.
⏳ You can transform your life in 3 months.
Stop bu****itting yourself — and stop believing the influencers selling shortcuts. If you’re going to start a lifestyle change, give yourself 2 to 5 years minimum. Three months is just a taste and yes, we have these programs with plans to convert you into a real lifestyle plan. Most people finish a 12-week program and end up back where they started — or worse — because they never built the foundation.
This is a marathon, not a sprint. You’ll face learning curves, setbacks, and a few punches in the face. But with the right coach — someone mature enough to guide you through what real health means — you’ll get there.
Healthy. Happy. Strong. Independent.
That’s the goal.
