🧪 We’re growing our compounding team!

We had an amazing response to our recent Pharmacy Assistant posting — and now we’re opening up something a little different…

✨ A chance to specialize in pharmacy compounding ✨
(As a Pharmacy Assistant or Registered Technician)

This is a part-time role (8–20 hours/week) focused only on the compounding side of the pharmacy.

So what does that actually mean?

You would be:
• Weighing and measuring ingredients
• Performing pharmacy calculations to prepare accurate mixtures
• Mixing custom creams and specialty medications
• Preparing things like pain creams and custom capsules
• Keeping the compounding lab clean, organized, and stocked
• Cleaning tools, workspace, and the compounding hood properly
• Learning how to process compound prescriptions from start to finish in our pharmacy software

Strong math skills are a MUST.
Pharmacy compounding involves frequent calculations, precise measurements, and exact weighing. You should feel confident working with numbers and formulas.

No compounding experience? That’s okay — we will train you.

Experience with:

✔ Detail-focused work

If you've ever wanted to work "behind the counter", we have grown and are looking to train new assistants - either full time or part time flexible hours. 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

Experience is an asset, but not necessary. We will train the right candidates 🙂

Duties include - preparing prescription medications in vials, filling blister packages, and mixing creams.

Hours - evening and weekend hours may be required to assist the Pharmacist after hours. Flexible schedules are preferred, but please reach out to discuss with Stephanie.

🚗 Important Update About Our FREE Delivery Service

We want to share an update about medication delivery to our out-of-town communities.

For the past number of years, we’ve proudly offered FREE delivery Monday–Friday to St. Paul’s, Cow Head, Parsons Pond, and as far as Daniels Harbour (a 175 km round trip). Prior to that, delivery had been Monday–Wednesday–Friday for nearly 20 years.

To keep our workflow running smoothly and maintain the high level of service our patients expect — both in the pharmacy and on delivery days — we are returning to a Monday–Wednesday–Friday delivery schedule.

👉 Effective immediately, delivery will run Monday – Wednesday – Friday.

This change allows us to continue offering delivery reliably while also ensuring we take the time needed so that prescriptions are prepared carefully, accurately, and on time for everyone. 🤝

🙂 Please remember:

• This is a FREE service we are happy to offer our communities
• We kindly ask that you *avoid* same-day delivery requests whenever possible

Many people don’t realize that after a prescription is filled, there is significant administrative work required to send it on our local delivery — including payment processing, package tracking, and signature documentation to meet NL pharmacy standards. It truly takes more time to prepare for local delivery than to send a prescription by Canada Post!

📦 Same-day delivery requests will be prioritized for:
✔ Antibiotics
✔ New medications

💊 Refills: Please call these in several days ahead, or at minimum 24 hours in advance.

If this delivery schedule does not meet your needs, as always, you are welcome to pick up your medications in Rocky Harbour at your convenience:
