Thursday's Lyrics is "King" by Lauren Aquilina this week and the anime for this Anime Music Video is Hotarubi no Mori e.

Lauren Aquilina's song 'King' is a powerful anthem of self-empowerment and overcoming self-doubt. The lyrics speak to the listener in a direct and comforting manner, suggesting that despite feelings of loneliness and uncertainty, one possesses everything needed to rise above challenges. The song encourages the listener to count their blessings rather than focusing on flaws, promoting a positive outlook on life.

The chorus of 'King' is particularly uplifting, with Aquilina urging the listener to 'reclaim your crown' and take control of their life. The metaphor of being a king symbolizes taking charge and being the ruler of one's own destiny. The reference to 'monsters inside your head' and putting 'all your faults to bed' suggests a battle with inner demons and insecurities, which can be conquered by embracing one's true potential and worth.

The bridge of the song, 'There's method in my madness, There's no logic in your sadness,' implies that while the singer acknowledges her own struggles, she sees no benefit in succumbing to sadness. This line serves as a reminder that wallowing in misery does not bring any gains, and it's a call to action to break free from the chains of self-imposed limitations. Aquilina's message is clear: everyone has the power to be 'king' again, to regain confidence, and to live a life free from the constraints of doubt and fear.

I will leave the interpretation of the amv to you after knowing what the song means.

Thursday's lyrics include "Just Give Me A Reason" by P!nk feat. Nate Ruess this week.

This is a really amazing, heartbreaking song about the desire to hold on to a relationship, even when it appears to be breaking down.

The female perspective in the song is reminiscing about how she first fell in love with her husband. She wants to believe that they’re still in love as they used to be, but she starts to feel insecure, and she isn’t sure how her husband feels about it. She thinks that the flame is gone out of their relationship, and she doesn’t know how to fix that.

The male perspective is completely oblivious to what his wife’s feelings and is surprised that she feels that way because he thought that everything was going well between them. He soon realizes that she’s right, and he also wants them to go back to the way they used to be. However, it is not easy, and they need to put more effort into their marriage.

Thursday's Lyrics is "Castle of Glass" by Linkin Park.

The music video shows a young boy being told that his father has been killed in action. He and his mother mourn the death as his father's SEALs teammates and their families who try to comfort them. Towards the end of the video, the boy goes through his father's possessions, fast forwarding to him to becoming a Navy SEAL, like his father before him (who was played by Marine Corps veteran, Scott Levy). At the end of the video, the man is seen telling a girl the heartbreaking news of her family member, as she too cries.

The music video for "Castle of Glass" was recorded on August 1, 2012, and it contains footage from the first-person shooter video game Medal of Honor: Warfighter. It was released on Linkin Park's YouTube channel, linkinparktv, on October 10, 2012. The band is shown playing in a storm where shattered pieces of glass circle the band, indicating the broken family due to their loss, like broken glass, which can never be the same.

The video hints at the boy and the woman being the family of Rabbit, a character from the game who died in the previous game and the teammates being Mother and Preacher. True to the Medal of Honor philosophy, "Castle of Glass" highlights the emotional realities soldiers and their families face far from the battlefield.

The video ends with an amazing quote from Winston Churchill, shown in all-caps:

'All great things are simple,
and many can be expressed in single words: freedom, justice, honor, duty, mercy, hope.'

Thursday's Lyrics is Song" by Rachel Platten.

Rachel Platten had a dream: She wanted to be a professional singer and songwriter. For 12 years, she tried to make her dream come true. She wrote a lot of songs–but not one was a big hit. She traveled from city to city and sang in clubs–but sometimes there were only 20 people in the audience. She made CDs of her music–but she didn’t sell many.

“Maybe,” Rachel thought, “I should give up.” She was tired of driving around the country in her mom’s old car. She was tired of singing in clubs from 1 AM to 4 AM. She was tired of eating cold cereal for dinner. She was 32 years old. Most of her friends had jobs, houses, and children. What did she have? She had 120 songs that nobody wanted to hear.

Rachel had to make a decision: Should she give up, or should she keep trying? For a year, she thought it over. She decided to keep trying. “I’ll keep singing,” she decided, “even if only five people come to hear me. I’ll keep writing songs, even if I never have a hit.”

She wrote a song about her decision. “I don’t really care if nobody else believes,” she wrote in the song, “because I’ve still got a lot of fight left in me.” She called the song “Fight Song.”

“Fight Song” was a big hit. A few months later, she sang the song in a concert. There were 50,000 people in the audience.

After the song became a hit, thousands of people wrote Rachel. They emailed, sent letters, and wrote on Twitter and FaceBook. "Your song helped me when I was going through chemotherapy for cancer…when I lost my job…when I didn’t have money to pay the rent…when I went through a divorce…when I had postpartum depression…when I moved to a new city…when I got hurt in a car accident." Everybody’s story was different, but they were all the same in one way: Rachel’s song helped them through a difficult time.

Rachel Platten wrote “Fight Song” to help herself. But the song has helped thousands–maybe millions–of other people, too. Now, it is not just Rachel’s fight song. It is everyone’s fight song.

Thursday's Lyrics is "Rise" by Katy Perry, which was actually used as the NBC's anathem for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

The song was created to be NBC's anthem during the network's coverage of the 2016 Rio Olympics. Katy Perry alludes to how the fortitude of Olympic athletes unite the world during the sporting event: '"I know that together we can rise above the fear – in our country, and around the world. I can't think of a better example than the Olympic athletes, as they gather in Rio with their strength and fearlessness, to remind us how we ALL can come together, with the resolve to be the best we can be," she said. "I hope this song can inspire us to heal, unite, and rise together. I am honored that NBC Olympics has chosen to use it as an anthem before and during the Rio Games."'

The clip shows Katy struggling to get her pink parachute to fly before finally taking flight over canyons and water, thereby rising to conquer yet another challenge. She has said: "I have extreme OCD... So this is a very difficult shoot for me, to be dirty all the time."

"'Rise' is a song that I have had swirling around in me," she explained. "It's a little bit like the story of the phoenix, about overcoming... Rising up again or finding that inner strength again and again, that's a lifelong theme for me."'

Thursday's Lyrics is a song which you may have heard as it's been approximately 11 years since it's release and while seeming to be underrated, it is just a fun, light-hearted song, "Brave" by Sara Bareilles.

Words are powerful and we can either be the friend or foe of someone else with them. We can use them to build someone up as well as ourselves or knock down the person and bring ourselves down in the process.

Brave is pretty much saying that we can use words for either good or not use them at all and someone suffers in silence as the result. It has powerful effects no matter which angle you see it under and probably is a reference with bullying, which is such a common problem today.

What lines struck the most with me was:

"Innocence, your history of silence Won’t do you any good Did you think it would?"

It's all about reaching out and sharing your thoughts and it can possibly save many other people's lives as well as your own let alone the mental and emotional scars and pain one has to endure.

For those who are being bullied I just have to say this - there may be a group of people who are inflicting their pain (which is why many bully in the first place - they are in pain themselves) and giving their hate onto you even if you didn't do anything, but especially now that we have the advantage with the Internet and whatnot, it's guaranteed that there's a whole lot more people out there who relate and want to know you based on your experience alone and even those who are not far from your reach in real life that love you more than you think. It can save your life. The world is a big place, you don't have to suffer alone. Say something. Be Brave.
