With more than 27 years of experience as a social worker, Joyce Thornton has dedicated herself to the practice of mindfulness and meditation. Motivated by a desire to enhance her personal proficiency, she enrolled in an 8-week mindfulness course. This experience ignited a passion for sharing the benefits of mindfulness, leading her to pursue certification as a mindfulness instructor and has since been sharing her knowledge for approximately 8 years.

My mind is calm, I am calm when I am in nature, when I focus on the ice crystals on the branches, when I’m mindful about my steps, when I listen to sounds around me. It’s simple, yet requires effort, repeated effort. So worth the reward of peace and calm.

This is my first time doing a live mindfulness talk and meditation on line. I am posting the first take with encouragement of my husband, even though I was temped to redo it. He reminded me it’s far more important to be real. I know I will get better if I keep doing this. It’s also my way of encouraging others be themselves and to keep practicing whatever it is they want to get better at. Please share if you like this and think it might be helpful to others ❤️😊
