After a refreshing break in August, we're excited to jump back into our regular rhythm! Starting September 9th, our Tuesday and Thursday classes will be back on the calendar. ๐๏ธ
Our theme this month: Choosing the Path of Kindness
Yoga: Ahimsa (Non-Violence)
Jiu-Jitsu: Respect
As we step into September (our first month in a fresh cycle), we embrace ahimsa, the foundational principle of non-violence, and the profound respect it teaches us for ourselves, others, and the space around us. In both yoga and CAN-RYU jiu-jitsu, respect is crucial to our practiceโitโs the way we honour ourselves, our training partners, our teachers, our space around us, and the journey weโre all on together.
Ahimsa reminds us that non-violence is not just the absence of harm, but the consistent active practice of kindness, compassion, and understanding. Itโs in the way we treat ourselves with patience when we falter or are faced with fear, communicate and interact with others, and approach challenges on the mat and in life.
In September, we first and foremost deepen our commitment to respect and non-violence. We start the activity year practising moving with intention, speaking with kindness, and creating an environment where everyone feels valued and supported. Rooted in respect and the spirit of ahimsa, we build a stronger, more connected community.
