For many of you who have practiced with me over the years, you know that I’ve never been a big believer in New Year’s resolutions.
This year, I’m moving even further away from that and closer to honouring the rhythm of nature.
January thus far has been an invitation to slow down.
To move in ways that support my nervous system.
To listen more closely to the subtle cues of my body.
To take time to reflect on the year that has passed and gently sense what I need moving forward into 2026.
I began the year with a soft, gentle yoga flow. After the rush of the holiday season, slowing down and spending time with myself felt intuitively right. Moving more deliberately allowed me to focus on alignment, sensation, and breath rather than rushing ahead or trying to predict what would come next.
I felt nourished, un-rushed, and steady.
Not depleted, but supported.
And this practice doesn’t end on the mat.
Over these past few weeks, I’ve also been stepping back from what drains me, certain habits, relationships, constant noise, social media and choosing instead what truly feeds my body and mind. Movement that feels supportive. Food that nourishes. Time with people who feel grounding.
Yoga, to me, is something to be lived.
As the months unfold, my intention is simple:
to let go of the "shoulds",
to honour what feels right,
and to continue choosing nourishment in all its forms.
No resolutions.
Just listening.
Looking forward to welcoming you back to class January 5, 2026.
