Soaking in a very special weekend where I got to bond w the house, really settle in, and reflect on this threshold that feels so sacred.

I am so honoured to be the steward of this home. I know we’re going to do really good work here. I can’t wait to share this space with you all. 🏡

And I am so very grateful for my team. They are solid. Each one of them is guided by a deep desire to help and heal. And collectively, watch out. They’re a powerhouse! 🔥

As we continue to settle in, I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. I wouldn’t be here without you. And to our clients who entrust us with their most vulnerable parts, thank you for allowing us to be in your lives in such meaningful ways. ❤️

Stay tuned for a couple big updates…✨

Last night felt special. ❤️ I got to attend Alexis’ yoga class, in our new beautiful, warm and cozy space. Alongside my awesome SIL and sweet niece .eq and badass auntie
, and meet two lovely women from neighbouring communities.
It felt soooo good to be there and to begin sharing it with others.

Thank you Alexis, for your knowledgeable, gentle and encouraging guidance. My nervous system says thank you, too! 🙏🏼

I’ve made a monumental move in the past week: physically, mentally and emotionally. It’s the kind of life/business event that I’ve felt I “should” be sharing along the way, but a quiet voice in me has reminded me to pull back, pace myself, and do this all in my own way that feels right to me.

Don’t get me wrong, I am so excited to share it with you! The house is SO beautiful that many times it’s stopped me in my tracks as I bustle from room to room arranging things, and I’ve gotten overwhelmed with emotion and tears, with gratitude for this truly remarkable, honourable space.

But I’m going to continue to tune into my inner compass and go at my own pace.

For now, I just want to take a moment to pay homage to The Smellie Block, for its sturdy walls holding space over the past six years. I feel like I’ve grown up professionally in many ways there, opening a private practice, becoming a business owner. And those walls have provided safety and containment for so much learning and growth, for clients and clinicians alike. So long, farewell and cheers to the next chapter. ✨🏡✨

On Friday, 10/10 at 10am, I sat in a lawyer’s office and signed my name a dozen times. Something so ordinary—and yet this time it felt anything but. Because when I finished, I walked out the official owner of a big, old, beautiful home.

The house I’ve walked by again and again, always feeling a pull toward it, never once imagining that one day it would hold my practice.

It’s hard to name what I feel—excited, scared, proud, in disbelief, grateful. Probably all of that, tangled together. It feels like standing at the edge of something huge, taking a leap, and trusting that I’ll find my footing.

I keep coming back to gratitude. For Nate, who has been steady enough to encourage me to take risks. For my boys, who tell me they’re proud. For my family in Kentucky, who helped make this possible. For friends, mentors, colleagues, clients—so many people who’ve believed in me, taught me, and cheered me on.

When I left the office, I happened to look up the meaning of the number 10. It said: “The number 10 marks the end of one cycle and the beginning of the next. Your hard work has paid off and you are entering a phase of renewal.”

I’ll take that. Here we go.✨🏡✨

Hi Russell and area friends. I'm looking to get set up with internet for Parkland Psychology once I move into my beautiful new space. If you like your internet service, can you please tell me who you're using? Thank you!

Sometimes you meet someone, or even BEFORE meeting them, hear about them, and just KNOW on a deep level that you’re meant to be in each other’s lives. That’s how I felt about Holly right from the get go. Although we’ve only met in person thrice (ooh, I got to legitimately use the word thrice!), every time it feels like we just click into place w each other. ✨

Holly is such a beautiful, gentle, creative and deeply-rooted soul. I love being in her presence and appreciate all the gifts she shares with the world. Art-making, reiki, yoga, her gifts abound. And she has such a way of bringing people together in a safe, supportive and easy way. Thanks for being you, Holly!

And thank you to for a delicious, wholesome lunch! Check them out, folks!

✨ Exciting Team News ✨

I’m so happy to share that Megan has officially joined Parkland Psychology & Wellness as a contract counsellor! Many of you will remember Megan from her time here as a practicum therapist—she was such a natural fit that I knew I wanted to keep her on our team.

Megan recently earned her Master’s in Counselling Psychology and achieved her Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) designation, which means her sessions are reimbursable through most insurance providers.

She is bright, compassionate, curious, and deeply skilled at building connection with a wide range of clients. Megan brings warmth, non-judgment, and a wonderful sense of fun and dedication to her work—a beautiful complement to our team.

Both Megan and I are currently accepting new clients. If you’re considering counselling, you can complete our form through the website to book a free consultation. This is a chance to see if we’re the right fit for you—and if not, we’ll gladly provide referral ideas for alternate options.

Big news, friends: I bought my dream home to house my psychological practice. đź’›

From the moment I saw the listing, I felt a full-body YES (craziest manifestation story to come…). Built in 1915—the same year as my childhood home—with a dining room painted the very same sun-washed yellow. Hardwood floors. Tall ceilings. A welcoming front porch. And room for mindfulness groups, breathwork, yoga, and outreach/workshops. It feels safe, warm, and like HOME—a space where people can come to heal, and where I can fully flourish as a psychologist, bringing psychology together with holistic approaches for our community.

With deep gratitude, thank you to Rheanne and Wes and the Smellie Block Building for being such a beautiful home to my practice for the past six years. You have been so accommodating and hospitable. That space has held meaningful, life-changing work—hundreds of clients, four practicum student therapists, and, more recently, the powerful offerings Jenny, Alexis, and Arielle have shared with individuals and groups. I’m profoundly grateful for all it has gifted us.

Thank you to my husband, Nate, for championing me, believing in me, and encouraging me to take up space and step fully into myself as a psychologist and a woman. To my boys—thank you for cheering me on and seeing me as a multi-dimentional person with business-dreams and passion.

To my friends in Kentucky and here in Manitoba— thank you for every cheer from Zoom calls, patio lunches, retreat heart-to-hearts, singing practices, text messages, and coffee shops. And to my family of origin in Kentucky: your unwavering support has been my secure base. We’re tied by an invisible string, always, and I carry you with me into this next chapter.

More details (and that wild manifestation story!) soon. 🏡✨
