Asana prepares the body for meditation. The shapes we form can help to clear or settle excited prana and when we surrender and release in savasana- the body is then more prepared for the other limbs of yoga. If you feel a moment of connection, peace, or even bliss when you sit up from savasana, that’s a great time to sit in meditation for awhile. Well- anytime is a great time to sit in meditation! 🧘

I’ve been learning to read and write Sanskrit in Devanagari for a year now. It’s been a challenging journey!
My Sanskrit program has now shifted to reading and studying the Gita in the original language that it was written.
It’s pretty incredible that after only 1 year of study I am reading the Gita :)
To really embody and cement the teachings in my body, I am embarking on my own journey to not only study the words. Their origins linguistically, but also to chant the Gita phrase by phrase.

Practicing yoga in nature on this summer solstice weekend is one way to reflect, connect and honour the lands that we inhabit, and which First Nations have stewarded for millennia.

For me, yoga in nature is a way to connect to the other species around me, who are our brothers and sisters. Through this connection we begin to touch and honour the land.

I ‘m not currently teaching anywhere, my current practice is focused on reading the Bhagavad Gita in Sanskrit. So I’m recommending a few experiences in and around Victoria that you might like to check out this weekend.

Special event next Monday evening!

Although we will be moving through a physical movement 108 times, please don’t let the number #108 hold you back!

We will be doing various version of the sun salutation, including gentle versions on the earth.

This is more of a devotional practice, honouring the sun that gives us life, and using breath with movement to meditate/ be in our bodies. Resting is also welcome.

Why do we do this practice? More on that later.... Or- show up to find out 🙂
