Dear Dad, one of the hardest things I've had to do is say goodbye, but I know it's never goodbye. I have so much to thank you for; almost everything I do is because of you - my passion for music, cars, and working on cars, and the passion to help people. Thanks for helping me with so much and for being my best friend that I could always count on. I can't thank you enough. I'll miss you till we meet again. I love you; rest easy dad.

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Lois Alberta Trenholm, age 78, of Sackville. Lois passed away peacefully at the Sackville Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 5, 2026 with her loving family by her side.

Born in Sackville, NB, she was a daughter of the late Lorne and Eva (Mitchell) Mitton.

If you knew Lois, you knew that she was one of the kindest, most generous people on earth. She never forgot birthdays and you could expect a phone call from her if it was yours. She always had a little cash stashed in her bra or the sleeve of her sweater for when her grandsons came to visit and she would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it.

A hard worker from a very young age, Lois worked doing chores on her family’s hobby farm and later moved on to hold jobs with Enterprise Fawcett, NB Power, the New Brunswick Information Centre, and the Great Canadian Dollar Store before retiring.

Lois loved her family, and always enjoyed having a visit from her grandsons, Tim and Kyle and her great grandkids, Olivia, Jaelynn and Austin. She was constantly followed by her faithful Pomeranian, Mike, who would growl at you if you went near her or her walker. She loved doing her puzzle books, waving to people through the front window and enjoying the occasional iced capp from Tim Horton’s usually delivered to her by Kyle or Destiny.

Lois will be sadly missed by all who knew her but especially by her family and her dog Mike. Rest easy Lois and enjoy as many iced capps as you want now!

In addition to her husband Austin of Sackville, she will be dearly missed by her son Steven (Tanya) Trenholm, Sackville; grandsons, Timmy (Danielle) and Kyle (Destiny); great grandchildren Olivia, Jaelynn, and Austin; siblings Charlene Mountain, Cape Tormentine, Charles (Rita) Mitton, Moncton, Cathy (Howard) Amos, Amherst.

In additon to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Albert; siblings George Mitchell and Phyllis; brother in law Wendell Mountain.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville, NB (506-364-1300). Public visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 from 6 to 8 pm. Her funeral service will be held at the Jones Funeral Home, Sackville, on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 2 PM, William Drysdale, DLM, officiating.

Donations in her memory may be sent to the charity of your choice.

Lois's family would like to send heartfelt thanks to Dr. Milne, Dr. Kangi, and Dr. Wall, as well as the nurses and staff of Sackville Memorial Hospital for their commitment and care to Lois's care.

Patricia "Pat" Kathleen Legere (Kehoe) of Port Elgin died after a brief illness at the Georges Dumont Hospital in Moncton on Sunday, 29 March 2026 with her son at her side. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, teacher, and friend who will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1947, she was the eldest daughter of Edward Kehoe and Margaret Kelly.

Pat was a loving and caring mother, had a special bond with both of her wonderful daughters in law and loved with all her heart both Vincent and Martin and all the wonderful adventures they shared.

After growing up in Hamilton and later Marysville, she graduated from the New Brunswick Teacher's College which brought her to Port Elgin, where she taught at Port Elgin Elementary for many years. She left teaching to raise her family and returned to education acting as the Librarian for both the elementary and junior high schools. During this time, she continued her studies at Universite du Moncton, graduating with a degree in Education. She then returned to teaching until her retirement.

In between teaching careers, she stayed at home to raise her family as an encouraging mom who assured everyone that a passing grade in math was actually a full 20 marks higher than what the report card said.

In retirement, her calendar remained full, serving on several committees, only some of which Jan strong-armed her into. Over the years she was a Beaver Leader, was on committees or Boards for the PEDVAC Foundation, Port Elgin Health Centre, Sackville Hospital, Port Elgin Library Board, and the St. Clements Women's Group. She was also an enthusiastic member and proponent of the Nursing Home Without Walls in Port Elgin. In between those meetings she regularly attended fitness classes, was a regular at Tai Chi, and loved her weekly bowling group.

She also maintained a tight circle of friends from high school in Fredericton for over 60 years and was looking forward to her 60th high school reunion in June.

In addition to her community work in Port Elgin, she was an active member of the community in Murray Corner with many close friends by her cottage on Loyalist Court.

Also, special thanks to Dr Brule and the staff at the Port Elgin Health Centre, who were an involved, compassionate, and caring partner for Pat in her last weeks.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years Jerry, of Port Elgin, her sons Jason (Sharon) Saint John NB, and Adam (Natalie), Port Elgin, and daughter Mary Jane Lewis of Markham, ON, Grandsons Vincent, Martin, and Mitchell. Siblings Margaret (Jim), and Michael (Jennifer), both of Fredericton, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by sister-in-law and best friend of over 50 years, Jan Legere of Port Elgin, with whom she served the community on countless committees and traveled to New York for Broadway shows.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Funeral Home, Port Elgin and Sackville, NB (506-364-1300) where visiting hours will be held from the Port Elgin location on Monday from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church, Port Elgin on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 11 AM, Father Carlos Jacinto officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, Pat would be touched to have donations be made to St. Clement's Catholic Church in Port Elgin or the charity of your choice.

Sharing of memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visiting Pat's online memorial at www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the Jones Funeral Home page.

Patricia Elaine (Cook) Blayney
March 12, 1944 – March 11, 2026

It is with deep sadness, and also a sense of peace, that we say goodbye to our beloved mom, grandmother, aunt, sister, and dear friend, Patricia Elaine (Cook) Blayney, who passed away peacefully at the Westford Nursing Home in Port Elgin, New Brunswick, on March 11, 2026, after many years living with Alzheimer’s.

Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Greg Blayney, and other cherished family members. She is survived by her daughter Janet and husband Roger Pothier, and their children and grandchildren in Nova Scotia; her brother and sister-in-law Alfred and Colette Blayney and their family in Ontario and Australia; and her sisters children, and their families in Canada and the United Kingdom.

Patricia was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on March 12, 1944, to Elmer and Helen (Ogden) Cook while Elmer was stationed there during the Second World War. She fondly recalled early childhood memories of living in Halifax after the war and always loved returning to reminisce. Above all else, family was everything to her. Her generosity of spirit was legendary—whether through carefully chosen gifts, handmade treasures, or small acts of kindness “just because.”

Patricia was part of the fabric of the village of Port Elgin, New Brunswick, where she spent 25 years working for Canada Post, most of them as the Post Mistress. She took this responsibility very seriously and touched the lives of many people throughout her years at the Post Office. She enjoyed volunteering as a Guide Leader, supported the Port Elgin Summer Breezes Week, loved the Lupin Fair, and she and Dad were secret Santa more times than she would ever admit.

Mom’s creativity was woven into everyday life. Through painting, gardening, and folk art, she delighted in sharing beauty with others. Visitors rarely left without a painted keepsake, a plant cutting—sometimes from her beloved Jackmanii clematis—or flowers from her garden, always accompanied by a cup of tea and a cookie. Always. The great grandkids especially remember her love of ice cream and how their pockets and backpacks would be filled with trinkets after a visit to Little Shemogue.

Nieces, Vanessa and Nadine remember her impish laugh, constant chatter, and love of art, gardens, pets, and donairs. Summer trips “down east” to the farm, art supplies spread out on tables, and thoughtful packages mailed from the Port Elgin post office left lasting impressions on nieces, nephews, and later, their children. Every birthday and Christmas was marked with a card, a small gift, and the feeling of being deeply remembered.

Colette and Alf have fond memories of their travel adventures with Pat and Greg, from a trip around the coast of Nova Scotia to exploring the eastern seaboard of the United States. Pat loved to travel, visiting places she once only dreamed of—from Versailles and Rome to Nashville and the Florida Keys. She returned home with thousands of photos, shared stories filled with laughter, and images of old barns she hoped to paint someday. Roger remembers that no matter how wonderful the journey, she was always happiest when it was time to ‘get home to the farm’, often saying that she wished she could just “wiggle her nose,” and be home.

From her best friend Catherine come memories of road trips, yard sales, tea, painting, and laughter—especially one unforgettable day involving a china cabinet that somehow fit into Pat’s little red Probe, along with groceries and good humour. The cabinet found its place in her home for many years, just as those shared adventures found a permanent place in the hearts of those who loved her.

Mom, was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. Her kindness, creativity, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family live on in the many lives she touched and the memories we all hold close.

Rest easy Mom, and until we meet again, I’ll be sure to eat my oatmeal.

Arrangements are under the care and guidance of Jones Funeral Home, Sackville and Port Elgin, NB (506-364-1300). A private family graveside service for Gregory and Patricia will take place in the Fernwood Cemetery at a later date.

Donations in Patricia's memory may be sent to the Alzheimer's Society; Canadian Cancer Society; Port Elgin Regional School.

Sharing of memories and condolences were sent to the family by visiting the online memorial at www.jonesfuneralhome.ca or through the Jones Funeral Home page.
