Yoga is a somatic practice. The body holds a lot of our mental stress. Finding a physical outlet for our bodies to release is great for our mental health and our physical wellbeing too! Yoga has many different practices. Some are for strength and others are for stretching. Restorative yoga is a great practice for those who are new to the practice. By holding simple poses in a supported way, it lets the body relax into the pose while letting the mind calm through intentional breathing. Have you tried it?

Meditation can happen in many ways. Traditional, guided, and walking meditations are all great for our mental health. You know what else can be used as meditation? Knitting, crocheting, or stitching of any kind! Repetitive motions that don't require a lot of thought are great methods that can be used as a form of meditation. So, if sitting still and trying to release yourself from your thoughts isn't your cup of tea, perhaps a walk in the forest is!
