💀 Honoring Our Ancestors on Día de los Mu***os 💀

Today, as we gather for our Ancestor Reverence workshop, we find inspiration in Día de los Mu***os, a day to celebrate and honor the memory of loved ones who have passed. This tradition reminds us that, even beyond the physical, our ancestors are part of our lives, guiding us with their wisdom, blessings, and stories.

Día de los Mu***os teaches us that honoring the spirits of our ancestors brings joy, healing, and a sense of connection that transcends time. As we connect in ritual today, through talking circles, the havan fire, and altar offerings, we invite our ancestors to be present with us, to support our healing, and to bless us with strength.

Let’s embrace this day of remembrance with reverence and gratitude, honoring those who came before us and finding the strength and inspiration to carry forward their legacy. 🌸

✨ Honoring the Legacy of All Saints’ Day ✨

Today, on All Saints’ Day, we remember not only the official saints but also the “elevated ancestors” who came before us—those who have walked spiritual paths, guided communities, and imparted wisdom. Traditionally, this day calls for honoring saints and spiritual teachers, recognizing them as beacons of compassion, resilience, and devotion.

All Saints’ Day also serves as a beautiful reminder to connect with the revered lineages we’re part of. By remembering these guides, teachers, and wise ones, we open ourselves to the blessings of their lives and wisdom, allowing their influence to gently guide our own journeys.

In this spirit, our weekend workshop will be a space to honor both well-known spiritual figures and our personal ancestors. Through ceremonies and guided circles, we’ll create an environment for reflection, remembrance, and gratitude for the gifts passed down through family lines and spiritual traditions alike.

May today bring you closer to the lineage of saints, ancestors, and elevated teachers, offering you a sense of rootedness and continuity.

🎃 Honoring Ancestors on Halloween and Deepavali 🌸

Today, as Halloween and Deepavali align, we find ourselves surrounded by traditions of light, remembrance, and ancestral presence. It’s a perfect moment to reflect on the gifts and challenges our ancestors passed down to us, guiding our path.

In our upcoming weekend workshop, we’ll explore these deep connections through guided circles, a nature walk to establish a stone circle, a Pitru Havan (ancestor fire ceremony), and a sacred altar space where you can place personal items honoring your lineage.

By consciously connecting with our roots, we invite blessings, healing, and strength from our ancestors, grounding ourselves in the support of those who came before us. Join us this weekend to journey through remembrance, empowerment, and community. 🌌

The History of Śiva Ashram

Kedarnathan Subramanian created The Siva Ashram in 2017 as a way to share a

contemplative lifestyle of daily meditation, yoga worship and service with like-minded souls. He founded the ashram after finding a deep passion for Hinduism through the study of Sivaya Subrahmuniyaswami’s Master Course program. During these months as a master course student, his life started to change and improve dramatically. Old karmas and mental blockages resolved and he started to clearly see what he wanted for the rest of his life.

After visiting Kauai Hindu Monastery, meeting the monks and Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami, it became impossible for him to ignore his burning desire to live a monastic life. Before Hinduism, he was spiritual but not religious, believing in karma, reincarnation and a benevolent universe.

But felt his spirituality was unstable since it was lacking an authentic and coherent foundation. He hoped to bring people together who may have had similar feelings to learn more about Hinduism and possibly find a similar passion for the Saivite tradition.
