This is a reminder that if schools are closed, SOUL will not run tomorrow. Keep an eye out here on our page for an update.
👁️👁️We're keeping an eye on things. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning that anywhere from 15-25 cm of snow is on the way beginning tonight and lasting into Thursday evening. Snow tapering off Thursday night.
City crews and vehicles will be monitoring the forecast and conditions to respond as appropriate. When snow starts to accumulate, plows respond based on the following thresholds:
❄️ Snow reaches 2.5 cm: plowing of primary roads
❄️ Snow reaches 5 cm: plowing of main and designated secondary roads
❄️ Snow reaches 8 cm: residential streets will see plows but not be cleared to bare pavement
🚜👀 If you see a plow, remember to slow down, keep a safe distance, allow crews to do their work safely, and refrain from parking on the road to allow plows to clear the snow efficiently.
