Bike Fitting has kept me pretty busy, but during 2024/25 I went back to school to add new skills to my tool box to help my clients reach their goals in HEALTH and PERFORMANCE! I am now a Registered Massage Therapist on top of a Registered Kinesiologist and Certified Bicycle Fit Specialist. Combining these skills and the education obtained, has allowed me to elevate my Bike Fitting services, but also help my clients beyond the Bike. The body is put through a lot of stress while training and racing over a season. I can now help treat and guide my clients more holistically in both fitting and soft tissue treatment. The New Year is fast approaching. We are planning and organizing our training/racing schedules for the upcoming season. Don’t forgot to plan to give your body the recovery it needs to Perform at its best.

Well, it has been about 10 years since I last did a race on a bike, which was a Half Ironman. I’ve been off riding in any sort of capacity since adopting my kids 6.5 years ago. But here I find myself signed up and going to the “We Need More Cowbell” CX race on Sunday! I miss my bike, I miss riding with friends and the community! Thank you to the cycling community, all my Bike Fitting clients and friends for continuing to encourage/chirp me over the past 6.5 years to get back out! Sometimes you just need to throw yourself back into the fray!!! Here we go, 9am Sunday September 28th at Big Valley Campground!!

Riding your bike while in PAIN or while you CAN’T FEEL parts of your body is NOT NOTMAL.

For some reason we have normalized riding with pain, discomfort and/or numbness. You don’t have to suffer with this why while riding your bike. Support the body properly, which will allow your body to move naturally and efficiently. If you are overwhelmed with where to start, we can help you figure out what is causing your issues and how to solve them. Saddle numbness, saddle sores, hand numbness, “hot foot”, low back pain, neck pain, knee pain, all of these are common issues with cyclists and can all be prevented and/or corrected with a proper Bike Fit. Spring is almost here, so don’t wait. Book your Biomechanical Bike Fit now! Click the link in the bio or go to www.bicyclefitlab.com

What is involved in a Biomechanical Bike Fit? If you’re not sure, here is a breakdown of the Fitting process. The more in depth we go, the better the results will be. There is never too much information that can be given by the rider when it comes to their Fit.

The best part about being a Bike Fitter is helping more people ride bikes and allowing them to ride bikes more comfortably! Finding solutions for people that have limitations is my absolute favourite. Rick is going through the process of getting his new prosthetic, but the process is long and arduous. He wants to ride a bike for fitness, but the bulky, poor fitting start to the process makes it hard to ride a bike. I was able to shorten his left crank arm by 75mm to allow the leg to get around the pedal stroke due to significant restriction of knee flexion. With the amazing design of the Roll Step-Through from ,larger tires, plus the specific modifications we made, Rick can ride normally and get the exercise he wants. Enjoy the Ride!
