What is bis*xual?

Bis*xuality is a valid and diverse s*xual orientation. A bis*xual person is someone who experiences attraction to more than one gender. This doesn’t always mean an equal or simultaneous attraction to all genders—just that gender isn’t a limiting factor in who they may love or desire.

💡 Some bi folks use the term to describe attraction to both similar and different genders. Others may also identify as pans*xual, q***r, or fluid. Language can be deeply personal, and it’s okay if definitions evolve over time.

📣 What matters most is that bis*xual people deserve the same respect, affirmation, and belonging as anyone else.

If you're exploring your own identity or want to better support someone who is, you’re not alone. You deserve a space where your questions are welcome and your truth is honored.

Being a teenager today is hard. Really hard.

As a former high school teacher, I’ve seen firsthand the pressure that today’s youth carry: academic demands, social media comparison, identity exploration, and the quiet (or not-so-quiet) question of “do I even belong?”

💬 Talk therapy offers a safe, affirming space for teens to be heard without judgment. Whether your teen is navigating stress, anxiety, friendship changes, gender identity, s*xuality, or simply figuring out who they are, support is available.

✨ Adolescents don’t need to have it all figured out. But they do deserve a space where their feelings are valid, their identity is respected, and they can explore life’s big questions safely.

🌱 I offer 1:1 adolescent talk therapy that centers curiosity, respect, and emotional growth.

📩 Ready to start the conversation? Visit my website at www.harmonytreetherapy.com and fillout the form - I will reach out to you ASAP

You’ve spent enough time criticizing yourself. What if healing began with a different kind of voice, one that speaks to you with kindness?

This quote from Louise Hay is a powerful reminder: change doesn’t come from shame. It comes from gentle, consistent approval. From choosing, again and again, to meet yourself with softness, not scrutiny.

If you’re feeling stuck in self-judgment, body shame, or the exhaustion of never feeling “enough,” you don’t have to navigate that alone. This work is tender. It’s okay to need support along the way.

🌿 If you're looking for a space where you can reconnect with your worth, your voice, and your body, I’m here.
✨ Therapy can be a place to unlearn the harshness and relearn how to hold yourself with care.

📩 Send me a message or use the link in bio to book a free consultation. Your healing deserves time, space, and support.

What does it actually mean to be transgender? Let’s talk about it.

Being transgender means that the gender someone knows themselves to be is different from the s*x they were assigned at birth. That’s it.

Some trans people transition socially (like using a new name or pronouns), medically (through hormones or surgeries), or in other ways, but not all do, and no path is more “valid” than another. What matters most is that each person has the right to define and express their gender in a way that feels true to them.

Being trans is not a trend or a phase. It’s a deeply human experience of knowing who you are, even when the world hasn’t always made space for that.

If you’ve got questions, you’re welcome here. Learning is powerful. And unlearning outdated ideas can be a form of care too.

🌱 Let’s create space for curiosity, not shame.
💬 Drop your questions in the comments or DM me if you’d rather ask privately. There are no “dumb” questions here, just the start of better understanding.

You deserve to know the truth. And trans folx deserve to be seen, respected, and celebrated every day.

It's summer time - light clothing, swimsuits, sandals- body image issues are not uncommon.

I am learning to love my body and to love what it can do for me. I find this exercise quite helpful.

Body work - stand in front of the mirror and discover what you love about your body. Pick one body part that you appreciate, remembering what your body has been though, and what it is capable of. It's not about comparing. It's about loving ALL of you.

What does “cisgender” mean?

Cisgender (often shortened to cis) describes someone whose gender identity matches the s*x they were assigned at birth.

For example:
If you were assigned female at birth and identify as a woman, you're cisgender.
If you were assigned male at birth and identify as a man, you're cisgender.

That’s it—no judgment, no hierarchy.

🧠 Understanding the word cisgender isn’t about division—it’s about awareness. It helps us name privilege, listen more deeply, and create space for those who’ve had to fight just to be seen.

Gender is personal. Complex. Real.
And language like this helps us all move toward more empathy and respect.

Today, on Pride Day, I’m honoring every soul who has carried the weight of hiding, shrinking, or questioning whether they belong. Those who now stand a little taller, a little freer, and more fully themselves.

To those who have journeyed through shame and silence and found their way to self-love, chosen family, and radical authenticity: this day is for you.

Pride is not just a celebration. It is a reclamation. A reminder that you are allowed to take up space, live your truth, and love boldly.

Wherever you are on your path... just beginning, somewhere in the middle, or basking in your light, I see you.

You are enough. You are worthy. You are not alone. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️💛

💛🖤🤍💜 What does it mean to be non-binary?

Non-binary is a gender identity that doesn’t fit neatly within the traditional boxes of “man” or “woman.”

Some non-binary people feel like a mix of genders.
Others don’t relate to gender at all.
Some use they/them pronouns, others use she/he/they—or something else entirely.

✨ Non-binary people have always existed—across cultures and history.
Their identities are not a trend. They are sacred, personal, and real.

💬 What matters most? Respect. Listening. And letting people tell you who they are.

We said goodbye to our beautiful boy this month, after 15 incredible years.

He was the loyal protector of our home, our son’s best friend, and the most handsome dog ever! He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by love, with the help of a wonderfully empathic vet. Our hearts are heavy, but full of gratitude for every moment we shared.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

💖💛💙 What does it mean to be pans*xual?

Pans*xuality is a s*xual and/or romantic orientation where a person is attracted to others regardless of gender or s*x.

This means someone who is pans*xual might be attracted to people of any gender identity—or none at all. It’s not about physical traits or gender labels. It’s about who someone is—their energy, heart, humor, vibe.

👉 Pans*xuality is often described as being “gender-blind,” though not in a dismissive way—rather, it’s about openness to connection across the gender spectrum.

Pan people exist in every community, and like all identities, pans*xuality is valid and worthy of respect.

🧠 Knowing the language of orientation helps us honour our own identity—and understand the people we care about, too.

🌈 Everyone deserves love, belonging, and the freedom to define themselves on their own terms.
