Letters, sounds, blending, sight words. It is a lot to navigate on your own.

That is why Reading Gym keeps literacy simple, engaging, and stress free. Our short, multisensory activities help children build strong phonics foundations and grapheme phoneme correspondence without long lessons or added screen time.

Just 10 to 15 minutes a day can support early intervention, boost confidence, and help learning feel positive again.

Mixing up the letters b and d is very common for young learners. That is why we recommend just 5 minutes of practice per day, and making it fun.

Slime is a great multisensory tool that keeps kids engaged while building confidence. Finger tracing helps with muscle memory and reinforces correct letter formation, remembering that b starts at the top and d starts at the bottom.

For this activity, we placed our Reading Gym flash cards with embedded picture mnemonics under a glass baking dish so kids can trace directly over the letters. Simple, hands-on, and smile guaranteed.

If you would like the full alphabet flash card set, it is available on our website.

Want a fun, multisensory activity for practicing b’s and d’s? Grab a bag of rice and a plastic tray.

Start by having your child trace the letter b starting from the top and d from the bottom. This helps prevent reversals and builds confidence with correct letter formation.

Then have fun tracing the letters in the rice. Take turns with your child. It is tactile, engaging, and a great way to reinforce grapheme-phoneme correspondence in a positive way.

This simple activity only takes a few minutes and makes letter practice stress-free, hands-on, and multisensory. Bonus, it is guaranteed to make kids smile.
