Last Tuesday, as a small token of appreciation, we had the pleasure of bringing snacks to our wonderful partners of Alzheimer Society Niagara Region and Alzheimer Society Niagara Foundation. Did you know the ideal indoor temperature for older adults is 68–70°F (20–21°C)? Seniors can lose body heat faster and may not notice when a room is getting too cold. A chilly home can increase the risk of falls, illness, or even hypothermia.

This season, be sure to:
• Keep the thermostat at a safe temperature
• Seal drafts around windows and doors
• Encourage warm layers and cozy blankets
• Check in often on elderly loved ones
