🖤 Celebrating Black History Month with Heart and Healing 🖤

This February we honour the incredible contributions of Black leaders who have shaped mental health understanding and care for children, youth, and families. Black voices have long guided the journey toward more inclusive, compassionate support — and today we celebrate that legacy.

🌟 Dr. Kofi-Len Belfon – Clinical psychologist supporting children, adolescents & families, whose work reflects culturally informed care.

🌟 Dr. Monnica Williams – Researcher advancing inclusive mental health science.

🌟 Jessica Henderson Daniel – Trailblazing psychologist focused on racial trauma and youth mental health.

🌟 Angela M. Neal-Barnett – Child psychologist whose work champions anxiety support for Black girls.

🌟 Dr. Ulisa Diane Buckingham – Child & adolescent psychiatrist dedicated to culturally sensitive diagnoses and treatment.

🌟 Adijat Bunmi Adekunle – Black mental health therapist supporting intergenerational trauma and youth well-being.

We also acknowledge organizations like Black Mental Health Canada, advancing culturally grounded mental health support across communities.

At Pathstone, we’re committed to learning, listening, and advocating for access to culturally responsive care for all children and families.

This Black History Month let’s celebrate the past, acknowledge the present, and commit to a future where mental wellness is accessible, affirming, and rooted in community.

🤍 It’s Hug Day.

Hugs are powerful. They can calm our nervous system, lower stress, and remind us that we’re not alone. Whether it’s a hug from someone you love, a moment of self-compassion, or a quiet check-in with a friend, connection matters.

If today feels heavy, know that support doesn’t have to come wrapped in arms.
Pathstone is here for you when you need us by phone, in-person, or virtually.

For more information about our walk-in clinics and to find one in your area, visit https://pathstonementalhealth.ca today.

Every hug counts. And so do you. 🤍

💙 Blue Monday is here.

Often called the “most difficult day of the year,” Blue Monday typically falls in January when shorter days, colder weather, post-holiday fatigue, and financial stress can all pile up at once. If you’re feeling a little heavier than usual, you’re not alone.

✨ Ways to beat the January blues:
• Get outside, even for a short walk in the daylight
• Stick to a simple routine that includes rest and movement
• Stay connected with people who make you feel supported
• Do one small thing each day that brings comfort or joy
• Talk to someone about how you’re feeling

And remember, support is always within reach. 💙
Pathstone is here for you when you need us, whether that’s by phone, in-person, or virtually.

For more information about our walk-in clinics and to find one in your area, visit pathstonementalhealth.ca today.

You don’t have to navigate the blues alone. We’re here.

🍯 Happy Winnie-the-Pooh Day 🍯

Celebrated every year on January 18, Winnie-the-Pooh Day marks the birthday of A.A. Milne, the author behind the beloved stories of the Hundred Acre Wood, inspired by a real-life bear named Winnie at the London Zoo. It’s a day to enjoy the gentle themes of friendship, kindness, and navigating big feelings together.

📚 Two cozy reads to share with your child:
• Winnie-the-Pooh by A.A. Milne
• The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy

Reading together can open the door to conversations about emotions, reassurance, and connection.

And when families need extra support, Pathstone is here for you, offering children, youth, and families care by phone, in-person, or virtually.

To learn more about our walk-in clinics and find one in your area, visit https://pathstonementalhealth.ca today.

Because no child has to face big feelings alone.

🏃‍♂️💙 A Room That Tells a Remarkable Story 💙🏃‍♂️

This morning, we were honoured to host a Room Dedication Ceremony celebrating Ryan Gallagher and his incredible Ryan Runs 21 journey.

Throughout 2025, Ryan poured his heart, time, and determination into training and fundraising for Pathstone, culminating in 21 half marathons in 21 days this past September. His efforts raised an outstanding $72,000 in support of children’s mental health in our community.

As a heartfelt token of our gratitude, we are proud to dedicate a counselling room in Ryan’s honour. The space will feature photos that tell the story of his achievement and reflect his unwavering dedication to supporting children and youth who are struggling with mental health challenges.

We are deeply honoured to have met Ryan and his beautiful family and to have had the opportunity to get to know them. Thank you to everyone who supported Ryan’s run and especially to those who donated. Your generosity will directly support the work we do every day to help children and youth across our community find hope, care, and connection. 💙

👏 Big thanks to our friends at Zepps Gear Safety Workwear!

We’re grateful to celebrate another donation from this local company that truly walks the talk. ZeppsGear designs and manufactures safety workwear that’s made by the workers, for the workers and every year they go a step further by giving back.

Through their year-long fundraising campaign, ZeppsGear donates a percentage of merchandise sales to support children, youth, and families in our community. That means every purchase helps create safer workplaces and stronger mental health supports right here at home.

💙 Community supporting community at its best. Support those who support us!
