🥛Stay hydrated; Room temperature water, juices, electrolytes, ginger or cinnamon tea, warm honey and lemon water, clear broth or a light chicken soup will all help loosen congestion, relieve mucus buildup and prevent dehydration.

🤧A eucalyptus defuser will help with breathing passages as well as add moisture to the air. And a steamy aromatherapy shower works as a great decongestant by breaking up mucus.

March is Pharmacy Appreciation Month! Help us celebrate the remarkable contributions our pharmacy teammates provide at Garden City Pharmacy and at all pharmacies across Ontario.
Most Canadians have access to a pharmacy within 5km of where they live. Your pharmacy members play a critical frontline accessible role in the publics health care system and we thank them for all they do in nurturing the health of Canadian families every day and especially during the many challenges we have faced in the last few years.

For many of us our lifestyle and environmental factors lead to poor quality sleep. So what are some of the interfering factors outside of worry and distraught that contribute towards low quality sleep:

❗️Irregular sleep-wake sequence
❗️Daytime naps
❗️Lack of natural light in the daytime
❗️Stimulating activities before bedtime
❗️No physical activity during the day
❗️Using your bed for work
❗️Going to bed very hungry
❗️Eating after 8pm
❗️Caffeine and alcohol in the evening
❗️Watching TV in bed at night
❗️Screens before bedtime
❗️Too warm in the bedroom
❗️Lack of a bedtime unwinding routine
❗️Not tired or sleepy
❗️Sleeping less than 7 hours for the majority of people
❗️An uncomfortable sleep environment
❗️Light or sound interference while trying to sleep
✅ A disrupted sleep pattern will cause the Cortisol levels to elevate and negatively affect your entire regenerative process. Healing and repairing cannot take place when stress levels are elevated by lack of resting your mind and repairing our body.
✅ Adopting a few good behaviours to get your sleep routine on to a positive trajectory will repair many health issues including lowering blood pressure, relaxing blood vessels, improving blood flow, spreading nutrients effectively, ultimately physically as well as psychologically repairing and restoring your body and overall health.
Start by being consistent with these 3 point:
😴 Regularity - Go to bed at the same time each night and get up at the same time each morning, including on the weekends.
😴 Continuity – make certain you are getting uninterrupted sleep
😴 Duration – a sufficient amount of sleep is 7-8 hours
