We applaud the generosity of The Royal Canadian Legion Ontario Provincial Command Branches and Ladies’ Auxiliaries Charitable Foundation for their dedicated commitment to improving healthcare in Niagara.

We were fortunate to receive a generous $6,504 donation which allowed for the purchase of 2 Blood Pressure Monitors (for the Rankin Family Cancer Rehab and Outpatient Neuro programs).

Members from HDS Foundation and the Rankin Family Cancer Rehab team welcomed Trish Gander (Charitable Foundation Director District) and Darren McConnell (President, RCL HT Church Branch 24) to Hotel Dieu Shaver to learn first-hand how important this equipment is to patient care.

A few days ago, we welcomed the McSpadden family to Hotel Dieu Shaver, where they presented a generous cheque for $5,000 in support of the Rankin Family Cancer Rehab Program.

The McSpadden family created the Jordan McSpadden Memorial in honour of their son, Jordan who passed away suddenly from leukemia at the age of 29, four years ago. Through their memorial fund, they continue to celebrate his life while helping others in our community.

The Rankin Family Cancer Rehab Program provides medically monitored rehabilitation for individuals during or after cancer treatment, helping patients rebuild strength, improve mobility and regain independence and confidence as they move forward in their lives.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support the Jordan McSpadden Memorial and in turn supports Hotel Dieu Shaver and Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity and the difference it makes for patients in our community. 💙

Ajit is a grade 8 student at Wheatley School. Her project focused on raising awareness about strokes, their effects, and the importance of early treatment and recovery. As part of this project, Ajit organized a school fundraiser for Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation & stroke care. This raffle fundraiser raised $124.00. Thank you for thinking of HDS and for your incredible community spirit. 💙

A huge thank you to our incredible foundation friends, HDS staff, and volunteers who were part of our two-day Celebrity Ice Cup event. From those who stopped by to cheer on the teams to the many volunteers who helped make everything run smoothly, we are so grateful for the amazing network behind every initiative.
