Volunteer Appreciation Event
What an unforgettable night in Paris… 1900, to be exact!
Our Death by Chocolate mystery evening was a huge success, thanks to the incredible 42 volunteers who joined us. A special shout‑out to the 6 brave amateur actors who stepped into character and brought the story to life.

Your energy, creativity, and willingness to jump in made the night magical. We’re so grateful for each of our 60 volunteers and the community you help us build.

Merci beaucoup to all who attended — you made the evening truly sweet.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in developing and leading daily programs and activities for residents
• Build warm, supportive relationships with residents across the Martindale Place campus
• Support both the Life Enrichment and Wellness Coordinators with day-to-day initiatives
• Contribute to a positive, enriching environment that enhances residents’ quality of life
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in
Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, or a related field
• A genuine heart for serving and engaging with seniors
• Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently
• Friendly, approachable, and resident-focused
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Had a great painting session with Susan from ArtGrow Creative. Experimenting with colours, trying new techniques and sharing stories as they worked. The artwork was beautiful and the smiles said it all.

What a blast! Our Dutch Shuffleboard (Sjoelen) Tournament was the perfect mix of friendly competition, questionable techniques, and nonstop laughs.
From dramatic last shots to some truly creative playing styles, everyone brought their A-game...or at least their enthusiasm. We even had unexpected champions!
Thanks to everyone who joined in and made it such a fun time.

We had an incredible time celebrating the Winter Olympics with our own lineup of events. Residents jumped into the spirit with hockey, curling, shooting, slalom relay, snowball throwing and even snowman making. The competition was friendly, the laughs were nonstop, and the winter vibes were perfect.
Thanks to everyone who came out and made it such a memorable afternoon. Let's keep the momentum going all season long!

Residents making the best of it! Since the dining room was closed due to the burst pipe - the residents had picnics on their floors - we only have one picture - but other floors had picnics too! And a bible study for two!

We experienced a water leak in the Commons yesterday, and while it brought its share of disruption, it also revealed something beautiful: the strength and kindness of our community.
Staff responded instantly, residents offered encouragement and understanding, and the restoration team is already on the job.
Even in challenges, we continue to see God’s blessings — teamwork, safety, and a spirit of unity that shines through.
Several residents asked to see pictures of the damage, so we’re sharing them here. Thank you for your continued support and prayers as we restore the space. We’re moving forward together. 🙏💛
