The countdown is over… is officially underway!! 📣🌟

Today, we officially launched the 2026 Help Kids Shine campaign and revealed our ambitious goal of raising $350,000 to expand therapy and support services for children and youth across .

Our incredible Ambassador families helped share the moment, reminding us all what’s possible when a community comes together.

Want to learn more and be part of it? Read on for the full media release and help local kids shine even brighter.

“Every moment and milestone for Sophie has been such a joy to watch,” Emmerson shared. “From tasting more foods to rolling over, walking with her first walker to sitting up independently, and learning how to start communicating has all been amazing to witness.”

Sophie’s journey hasn’t been easy—but it’s filled with joy. 💙

Born with CHARGE syndrome and Russell-Silver syndrome, Sophie spent her first 11 months in the NICU at McMaster Children’s Hospital—facing challenges no family can prepare for.

Today, she’s curious, happy, and brings a sense of calm to everyone around her.

With support from Niagara Children’s Centre, Sophie and her family have access to specialized care, helping her build skills for the future.

This is Sophie’s story—and a reminder of the impact early support and community can have on a child’s life.

today is Doctors’ Day? ⚕️🩺

The Children’s Centre has long been supported by medical specialists as part of our comprehensive model of care. For many years, families have benefited from the expertise of Dr. Siu in our Neurodevelopmental Pediatric Clinic and Dr. Stacey in our Physiatry Clinic. Their consultations have helped guide countless children and families through diagnosis, care, and intervention.

Thank you to Sabrina for facilitating, our parent volunteers, and to keynote speakers, Brenda Agnew and Michael Jacques, for sharing their stories.

Turn-taking made fun! 🎲

Our occupational therapist, Kristina, shares simple, everyday toys you likely already have at home that can help build important social skills through play. From stacking blocks to piggy banks, to mixing and matching with potato heads—these small moments can make a big impact.

Try it out and take turns learning together.
