Growth doesn’t always look like big, dramatic change.

Sometimes it’s quiet, showing up, setting boundaries, or simply feeling things you’ve been avoiding.

That still counts, and you’re allowed to move at your own pace.

🏳️‍🌈 Today we honour Trans Day of visibility. At Calm Tides Counselling we recognize the strength, resilience and authenticity of transgender and non-binary individuals in our community and beyond. 🏳️‍🌈

Today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, CASW celebrates the contributions and leadership of trans people across Canada and around the world.

This day is an opportunity to recognize and uplift trans communities, while also acknowledging the barriers, discrimination, and violence many continue to face. Social workers have an important role to play in creating safer, affirming spaces and advocating for policies and systems that respect the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of trans and gender-diverse people.

Today, we honour the voices, leadership, and presence of trans communities, and recognize the importance of building a society where everyone can live openly and safely as themselves.

Accelerated Resolution Therapy is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps the brain safely revisit and process difficult experiences.

Rather than reliving distress, ART focuses on helping the nervous system update how memories are stored, allowing emotional intensity to soften over time and creating space for healing and calm.

ADHD is not a lack of effort or motivation. It reflects differences in how the brain processes attention, regulation, and stimulation.

With understanding and supportive strategies, individuals can move from self-criticism toward compassion and practical tools that work with their brain, not against it.

Support is here when you’re ready to begin.

March is Social Work Awareness Month.

Social workers support individuals, families, and communities through some of life’s most vulnerable moments. Their advocacy, care, and dedication help create safer and more supported communities for all.

We recognize and appreciate the important work they do every day.

Have you ever noticed different parts of yourself pulling in opposite directions?

Internal Family Systems therapy helps us understand these inner experiences with curiosity rather than judgment. What feels like conflict is often your mind trying to protect and support you in different ways.

Understanding these parts can open the door to greater self-compassion and clarity.

Brain Awareness Week reminds us that understanding how the brain works can change how we understand ourselves.

When we learn the science behind behaviour and emotion, self-criticism often gives way to curiosity, understanding, and compassion.

Learning about the brain is also learning about being human.

International Women’s Day offers a moment to pause and reflect on the many roles women carry each day both seen and unseen.

The emotional labour, care, and resilience woven into families, workplaces, and communities matter deeply. Today, we honour those experiences and encourage space for rest, reflection, and support.
