Most clinics leave RTM revenue on the table. Not because they're doing it wrong, but because no one made it simple.

Here's your RTM billing blueprint in one sentence:
👉 Enroll the patient, complete setup, monitor 10 to 40 min/month, communicate once, and bill what you've earned.

It really comes down to 3 buckets:
- Setup (98975) billed once per episode of care. This starts your RTM cycle.
- Device Supply (98975 / 98977) billed every 30 days when data transmits. Your baseline monthly revenue per active patient.
- Monitoring (98980 / 98981 / 98979) billed monthly based on time spent. First 20 min, additional 20 min, or a lighter 10-min option for lower-need patients.

When you put it together, most clinics bill 3 to 4 codes per patient per month. Consistent, recurring revenue that doesn't require more treatment slots or more in-clinic visits.

And here's the part that matters most: every code represents real clinical value. Better engagement, earlier identification of setbacks, stronger outcomes.

Researchers looked at 1,224 MSK patients across 95 private practice clinics. Half enrolled in RTM alongside their in-person PT. Half didn't.

The results:
72% of RTM patients hit their functional discharge goal. 63% of non-RTM patients did.
36% of RTM patients came in 2+ times per week. Only 24% of the control group did.
RTM patients were 1.53x more likely to reach their discharge benchmark, after controlling for age, diagnosis, and baseline score.
