Happy Halloween and Happy Samhain!(pronounced sow-wen)
Did you know that most of our North American Halloween traditions come from Ireland and the celebrations of Samhain?
Samhain is an ancient Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest and summer, celebrated on the night of October 31st into November 1st.
It is significant because it was believed to be a time when the barrier between the physical and spirit worlds was thin, allowing spirits to cross over.
Many modern Halloween traditions, such as wearing costumes and lighting bonfires, have roots in these ancient Samhain customs.
