Therapist Update

We would like to share that our long-time RMT, Danielle Vandergaag, will be leaving Serenity Now, with her last day being December 29th. Danielle has been a valued part of our clinic for 12 years, caring for countless clients with dedication and compassion. She is moving to the Niagara area and preparing for her upcoming marriage. While we will miss her greatly, we are so happy for her and this exciting new chapter ahead.

We will be actively looking for a registered massage therapist to join our team and help take over Danielle’s clientele. In the meantime, all of our therapists will be available to help, and several are adding an extra shift each week to accommodate clients during this transition.

Reception Update & Farewell

We are happy to announce that our wonderful receptionist Joan will be retiring, with her last day being Tuesday, December 30th. Joan has been with Serenity Now for over 11 years, and many of you know her as the warm, welcoming, and steady presence at the front desk.

We invite clients, friends, and family to stop by between 12:00–4:00 PM on December 30th to share words of wisdom, say goodbye, and wish her well in her exciting new retired life.
Beverages and light snacks will be provided.

We are also pleased to welcome Jackie (Joan’s sister), who will be joining us as our new receptionist starting in January. Jackie will be helping us during this transition, and we look forward to welcoming her to the Serenity Now team.

Happy 1-Year Gotcha Day, Newman!

It’s hard to believe it’s already been a year since we welcomed Newman to Serenity Now!
It doesn’t seem that long ago that he joined us, but he’s truly become part of the family.

Newman came to us through Animal Aide St. Thomas after spending over 700 days at the shelter. Before that, he spent his first two years in a difficult pet hoarding situation.
We are so happy to give him the safe and loving home he deserves.

To keep the clinic comfortable for everyone:
~Newman is not allowed in any of the treatment rooms
~We have 8 air purifiers throughout the clinic
~The clinic is professionally cleaned on a regular basis
~Lint rollers are available anytime for anyone to use

Newman has come such a long way this past year. He was quite shy when he first arrived but has seemed to overcome that. He has even taken it upon himself to be our official greeter, saying hello to anyone who walks in (while still keeping his distance if he senses you’re not a cat person).

Newman loves neck and tummy rubs, treats, and watching “cat TV” on our computer. He does not like getting his nails cut or being picked up.

If you have allergies or a fear of cats, please let your therapist know so we can make sure you’re comfortable.

A huge thank-you to everyone who’s shown Newman love this past year — and to Animal Aide for the incredible work they do helping local animals find their forever homes. 💛
