May 7th is known as international harm reduction day, a day to shift the focus from judgment to safety, emphasizing that every person deserves dignity and health, regardless of their circumstances. By promoting evidence-based strategies like needle exchanges, naloxone distribution, and recovery programs that meet people where they are, we reduce the risks of overdose and disease while building a more compassionate, inclusive society.

The Central Community Health Centre's mission is to provide equitable care for the community, and harm reduction helps us do just that.

Central Community Health Centre is excited to share that we are a proud recipient of a grant from the Elgin-St. Thomas Community Foundation through the Great-EST Needs Fund!

We look forward to putting these funds to meaningful use through our Nourish & Connect project - supporting food security and enhancing social well-being for vulnerable seniors and community members in St. Thomas.
