This week, staff members of the Elgin Ontario Health Team rolled up their sleeves and joined forces with our amazing partners at the Central Community Health Centre to serve up a community appreciation BBQ lunch.

From flipping burgers to sharing laughs, it was a great afternoon of connection, compassion, and collaboration - all in support of the people and communities we serve.

The survey is open to anyone born outside of Canada, who now lives or works in St. Thomas-Elgin, including permanent residents, international students, refugee claimants, temporary workers, and citizens. It’s available in English, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Arabic. The survey is open until June 30.

🚨Drug Watch issued for Oxford County, Elgin County and St. Thomas

We are issuing a Drug Watch to partners and the public following reports from community partners and people who use substances that Carfentanil is circulating in the region.

Carfentanil is a highly potent opioid and is 100 times more toxic than fentanyl. There is no easy way to know if Carfentanil is present in the drugs you are using. You can’t see it, smell it, or taste it. Even a very small amount can cause an overdose or death.

Yesterday’s BBQ was a beautiful reminder of what makes our community so special. Over 100 guests joined us to share food, fun, and connection in the sunshine (and a little chalk art too!).
