IT Network Technician

Basic Functions:
• Provide IT support for our server, storage and network infrastructure, both on-premise and in the cloud
• Perform project-based work such as technology upgrades and migrations in our system (and our locations across Canada)
• Assist in the architecture of IT Solutions
• Ensure proper recording, documentation and closure of any service tickets.
• Assist in developing technology standards review process for The Carr Group to proactively reduce the number of help desk service requests.
• To assist in all ongoing project to automate SOP, and in house processes (eg billing).
Daily Duties and Responsibilities
• Execute IT infrastructure projects such as Office 365 Migrations, firewall implementations, server deployments and Cloud Domain Controller environment with minimal supervision
• Purchasing and configuring for use; new equipment for the sites such as desktop computers, PDA's, laptops, Smart Phones etc, including and not limited to configure routers, WiFi, scan to email printers.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues in person, remote access, and via phone.
• Conduct daily network backup operations.
• Be able to take any extra tasks that are related to Information Technology and help other departments within the company such as CSR, Billing, and HR department. There is no such thing as "This is NOT my job".
• Offer daily operations and systems support to personnel.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required:
Ability to meet deadlines and manage stress effectively in high-pressure situations & environment.
Understanding of IT principles, VPN, IP Addresses, DNS, Routing & Security protocols, and ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience.
· Experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Excel formulas & sheets, Teams and OneDrive environment.
· Experience with JumpCloud Environment is an asset
· Experience with TimeTrex is an asset
· Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required.
· Multi-tasking, Self-motivated, work independently or as part of a team required.
· Ability to learn new technologies, research solutions and share knowledge.
· Must have the IT mindset when working on a task, issue or project.
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:
Bachelor’s or Diploma’s degree in Computer Science or related field
2+ years’ experience in computer networks and systems maintenance
2+ years’ experience on current network operating systems
