Here’s the nuance: many conventional lab “normal” ranges are designed to flag deficiency, not necessarily optimize outcomes—and there’s active debate on targets. 🧪💬 Major guideline bodies consider ≥50 nmol/L sufficient for most people and caution that persistently high levels (often cited >125 nmol/L) may increase risk. ⚠️

That said, many clinicians and emerging research argue that a higher personal target can be more meaningful than simply being “normal.” 🎯 In my practice, we often aim for an OPTIMAL window of ~100–200 nmol/L, tailored to your context and monitored with repeat labs—because there is no one-size-fits-all dose. 🧬📊

Even the common 10,000 IU/week approach can be helpful, but it often isn’t enough to consistently reach your target. 💊⬆️
