hello! i have taken a slight unintentional break from posting for a bit as i recently got sucked into some of my old hobbies and i like literally hyperfixated on them for a while. i like to take small social media breaks every now and then to re-centre myself and remember that instagram is supposed to work for ME, i don’t work for insta. i have fallen deep into reading again so please send all your book recommendations of any kind my way!! it’s so important to remember to take some time away from screens in any way that works for you, for me it’s mostly books and working out hahah.

reiki is a Japanese healing modality that uses a laying on of hands technique that is thousands of years old. it is a very simple yet powerful technique that can be learnt by anyone.
reiki is universal life force energy -
REI • refers to spiritual wisdom, supernatural knowledge or spiritual consciousness. the God-consciousness is All Knowing. it understands each being completely, knows the causes of all problems and difficulties and how to heal them.
KI • refers to the Life force, vital life force or universal life force. it is the nonphysical energy that animates all living things. as long as something is living - life force energy is flowing through it, when it dies, the life force energy departs. this is the primary energy of our emotions, thoughts and spiritual life. it is guided by the mind.

hi! i’m taylor, nice to meet you 🤎

i have gained a few new followers lately and realized i haven’t done a proper introduction of myself. (swipe for a pic of me) so...

helloooo i’m taylor :) i’m 21, and i live in british columbia canada 🌱 i am a certified reiki practitioner, meditation teacher and tarot reader. helping people heal their shadows and become their best selves is truly where my heart is. but i also don’t like to limit myself so i am going to college to study environmental science. i love learning and am constantly reading or researching about things to gain more perspective and knowledge on quite literally anything. i currently work 2 jobs (other than doing reiki and tarot) - i am a huge people person, although i’m actually quite introverted. i have 2 cats and they have helped me through the worst stages of my life and i don’t know where i would be without them. i have struggled with mental health for years and have been diagnosed with BPD, anxiety and depression. i also have gone through different types of trauma and i am currently focusing most of my work on trauma healing. helping others going through similar challenges makes me feel really fulfilled.

social media detoxes △

i believe that social media can be used for good and bad. before changing my major in school to Environmental Science i was going to go into Social Media Marketing. i freaking love social media. i grew up with the 2013-2014 tumblr, kik and the early facebook days. (i know i’m not that old but that was a really iconic time). i saw and still see all the amazing things social media can do in a society such as bringing like-minded people together, boosting businesses and people even being able to earn a full time income just from social media alone. but there is also an evil side. the side of constant comparison, cyber bullying, private information that almost anyone could access, and the kicker for me- the beauty standards. it is so important for us to be conscious about what we consume, both physically and through our technology. everything we absorb affects our subconscious. whether we are aware of it or not.

because of this i am going to be taking a little social media break from tomorrow (sunday may 2nd) to saturday (may 8th). i have been noticing that i am quite attached to my phone and ipad lately making it hard for me to be in the present moment in real life, i’m constantly living in the world my subconscious absorbed. i hope you all have a lovely week 🌱

processing emotions /—

learning how to properly feel and process emotions is extremely beneficial to our healing. i have been hearing a lot of people lately saying that past feelings and emotions have been arising. this may be due to the past full moon or the rise in people learning how to process trauma. either way i thought it would be beneficial to share some of ways to begin feeling and processing emotions for people who are new to this area.
another super beneficial way to really understand your feelings is through divination of some kind. i personally love tarot and oracle readings. (hit me up for a reading if that sounds interesting to you ;) )

5 ways to process and feel emotions
1- notice how your body feels. practice noticing and describing the sensations without labels or judgement
2- journal journal journal — write it all down
3- have a movement practice — yoga, exercise or anything that feels good. bonus points if it’s outside
4- take a bath or shower. use your senses to notice all the sensations around you. the smells, the bubbles, the temperature
5- phone/text a friend. tell them you’re needing support and some understanding (not advice and solutions, just someone to talk to)

becoming the best version of yourself.

something i have really been working on lately is doing at least one actionable step towards my “ideal” future self. i am fully willing to admit that in the past few years i have fell victim to the whole “just think about it enough and it will manifest” idea/trend. and when i look back to everything i believe that i have actually manifested in my life — it involved me taking the physical steps towards my being my best self first. there is unfortunately a lot of people out there trying to sell manifestation as just an easy little quick fix to things when in reality, manifesting also involves taking the steps and doing what you need in order to thrive.
every day when i journal i have began writing down at least one thing that i will do that will help me
embody my best self, because when i show up as her, life seems to flow a lot more smoothly.

a few ideas i have been trying to embody my best self daily:
+ journaling as if i’m already at my current goals
+ dressing in clothes that i feel my most confident in
+ cooking fun and trendy foods
+ regular social media clean outs and breaks
+ organizing/decorating my home in a way that makes me feel best

if you’ve felt stuck lately, try implementing a few small steps that make you feel your best. being in that high vibration will help you attract more of what you want.

focus on what you can control

the scorpio full moon last night is bringing us a strong, new transformative period. meaning that things that are no longer serving us are going to drop away and we have to be willing to let them go and step out of our comfort zones. because of this we can tend to feel like things are out of our control - so here are some things that you CAN control to help you feel more grounded during this time—

+ how you react to people and situations

+ how you treat your body
+ how you treat yourself
+ who you spend your time with
+ what you do in your spare time
+ how clean your home/space is

your silence is as sacred as your noise —

i heard this quote once (i believe it’s from one of ’s videos) but it has stuck out to me ever since. in the society we live in today, it’s hard for us to accept our quiet days. we are programmed and encouraged to be constantly moving and growing and sharing every little thing we do, eat and say. once i heard this quote - i stopped listening to that voice that programmed itself in my head telling me to constantly be open about my life and my journey. it is okay to stay silent during your healing. it is okay to stay silent when you’re not comfortable talking about a topic. your silence is as sacred as your noise. trust yourself. trust the universe. trust that you are exactly where you need to be. you don’t need to speak out for outside validation. you are valid. you are sacred.

happy earth day lovelies🌱
oh boy the love i have for the earth we live on is never ending. mother earth will always be there to hold you and love you unconditionally. she embraces her cycles and knows when to release. we can learn so many valuable lessons from mother earth i could go on forever.
my passion for this planet is what has lead me to studying environmental science in college and i dream of one day having a job where i can help protect the earth and educate others on how to.
there is no planet b.
we must take care of our dear mother while we have her.
i am so grateful for my parents raising me in the outdoors on a farm with our own animals, lots of camping trips and road trips. i will be forever grateful for the love of the outdoors that they instilled into me and my sister.
i hope you all take a moment today so express your gratitude for our mother earth, for she is the reason we are all here together.

i’ve talked about this so many times before but i am a sucker for a good morning and night routine. the way we spend our mornings sets the tone for our entire day. i have included a little glance at what my routines look like (on a good day). it’s important to make sure that you don’t overwhelm yourself and make it feel like a chore. but it also should be something that challenges you and brings you into your best self.
-
the same thing goes for night routines. the last couple
hours before you sleep are so crucial to the quality of sleep you will get. the feeling of getting into bed after some nice yoga and skincare is truly unmatched 🙌🏼.
-
another important thing to remember is that IT IS OKAY to slip up or not do your routines every day. some mornings i let myself sleep in because my body is more tired than usual or maybe i didn’t get good sleep. i also sometimes can have a day where i’m running late and can’t put my phone down and start my routine at a usual time. all of that is perfectly valid. don’t worry about beating yourself up about it. tomorrow is a new day and you can always adjust your routines to your life and try again.
