FUN CPAP FACTS.🌡☀️💧❄
With the seasons changing, it's important to be aware of the changes this can make on your CPAP air delivery.
The humid months are on their way out and the colder, dryer months are upon us. This means you may start to notice more water being used from your humidity chamber (water resevoire), your airway feels more dry in the morning, or maybe your tube and mask are starting to build up more with condensation. The heat from the water resevoire decreases as it get closer to the point of delivery at your mask, allowing for the moisture in the air pressure to condensate.
In the cooler months, humidity control is ample to ultimate cpap comfort. Pay attention as the winter approaches to make sure you are getting enough humidity and that your equipment is not building up with water.
An excellent option for you is to buy a climate line hose with heated coils. These tubes allow for evenly distributed humidity from one end of the CPAP tubing to the other, allowing for consistent humidity for you and your airway. Also make sure your CPAP tube and mask are completely dry before using. Hang your tubing over a door handle or something in your home to allow for it to fully dry. If you let condensation build up without emptying the tube, the more troubles you will have with water and condensation in the tube night after night.
