On Monday night we had the pleasure of gathering with local businesses and organizations to celebrate the launch of the newest local kid's book - Smash hits! produced by and Noelle's Gift to Children.
The book follows local students who are out to discover all the ways they can grow up to be Smash Hits in Sarnia Lambton! They encounter real businesses and real Sarnia-Lambton residents throughout the book, learning about everything from owning a bookstore to working at Shell.
This project has been a year in the making, and we are thrilled to finally have the chance to celebrate with the 30 sponsors of the book before it goes out into the community later this week. Thank you to Imperial City Brew House for hosting us and that beautiful charcuterie board, and to Great Lakes Refill Co. for a delicious candy and nut bar!
A focus of the book from the beginning was accessibility. That's why we are excited to say thousands of copies of the book are going to be distributed through the local school board system beginning this week. If you have a child in Grades JK - Grade 1 who attends a school in SCCSB, LKDSB, or Sarnia Christian school, your household will receive a copy.
And if your little ones are a little too young to get a copy at school, there will be copies available for purchase from The Book Keeper beginning on Saturday with our official public launch! Be sure to stop by between 10:30 and noon for a reading of the book, balloon creations, snacks, and photos with Pounce and Buzz!
This whole project was only made possible through the generous support of the following businesses and organizations Shell, Lambton College, Imperial Sarnia Site, Wyoming Tree Service, Plympton Plumbing, Dr. Vanessa Curran Dentistry & Dr. Jessica Bourassa Dentistry, Lambton Audiology Associates, Dr. Cassandra Taylor, Dr. Gerard March, Sarnia Police Association, Sarnia Firefighters, Andrew Bain - Royal LePage Key Realty, In Focus Eyecare, Sylvan Learning, Mainstreet Credit Union Canada, Sarnia Sting, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Sarnia-Lambton, LamSar Inc., ᕼᗩᒪO ᕼᗩIᖇ ᔕᗩᒪOᑎ, Caryl Baker Visage, Sarnia Legion Branch 62, Bluewater Power, George Murray Shipley Bell, LLP, Melo LLP, Great Lakes Refill Co., The Inn of the Good Shepherd - Sarnia, The Fox and Hound Canine Retreat, Sitara Indian Cuisine, The Book Keeper and Forbesvue Farms.
