Sometimes the self-compassion comes not in the moment, but much, much later (hello, time-blindness).
But better late than never. Because self-compassionate adults are more likely to:
👉 Admit mistakes without spiralling
👉 Course-correct behaviours that don’t serve them
👉 Try new challenges, even when success isn’t guaranteed
👉 Bounce back faster from setbacks
If you’re reading this caption like, “Be nicer to myself? That’s cute.”
I get it. I’ve thought it too.
When you live with ADHD, you become painfully aware of all the times you didn’t do the thing you were “supposed” to do. The missed deadlines, the messy closets, the unreturned texts.
So the idea of cutting yourself slack? It can feel pretty irrelevant. Or worse, unearned.
But the science says otherwise! So tap the link in our bio and read my blog ADHD and Self-Compassion: Why It’s so Hard and How to Start!
