Erick needs a kidney

Being on dialysis is no easy task! It’s a constant fight to stay healthy and to stay sane.
It’s a fight to have enough energy to go to work then come home and set up the machine that keeps you alive and then proceed to stab your self with two needles and watch your blood circulate for 4 hours.
It’s a fight to not loose hope that a donor will come forward to donate a kidney!

We are ready to share our next fundraiser - BEEF PIES!! Our family will be making these from scratch! They start with Grandpa's pastry and are full of local beef, fresh, finely chopped carrots, celery, onion to enhance the flavours and finished with delicious gravy! Individually packaged and frozen so you can bake them fresh when you are ready to enjoy. We are thankful to have Imperial City Brew House as our convenient pick up location again.

It’s been way too long since we have posted. Life has been busy lately. These pictures are from the Kidney Walk in September.
Health wise Erick has been doing good. Dialysis at home every other day. He is hooked up for 4 hrs but with set up and unhooking this can be upto 6 hrs depending on how needling goes. Erick is also still working full time.
We are still waiting for the call saying they have a kidney for him!
His best option is a directed donation!

Recently we have heard of a potential donor starting the paperwork! 🎉 This potentially would be a paired donation as she has a different blood type, but we can’t thank her enough for taking the first steps to helping Erick!
We don’t want to get our hopes up as this could still be months away from her be approved.

The more people that come forward the better as not everyone will be approved.
So please keep sharing Erick’s story and keep him in your thoughts. His donor is out there!

In 2021 Erick was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. He will need a kidney transplant!
September 4th is PKD awareness day! I invite all to wear teal to raise awareness!
