Did you know your fascia and vagus nerve are in constant conversation?

It’s how your cells manage stress + energy flow.

A 2025 study shows that fat on either side of the superficial fascia behaves differently:

Superficial fat (closer to skin): calmer, more protective, rich in anti-inflammatory signals.

Deep fat (beneath the same fascial sheath): primed for inflammation, oxidative stress + tissue remodeling.

But here’s the deeper truth: inflammation isn’t about fat or injury alone. It’s how your whole system negotiates stress + rhythm:
🌞 light cycles
💧 electron-rich / structured water
🥗 food timing
🌍 grounding/earthing
🌀 your stress load + nervous system tone

The public deserves the real story about birth care.

What’s playing out in our hospitals isn’t new. The system works as it was designed.

For newer nurses, it may feel like a crisis. For residents in training, a “high-volume” center is celebrated as exposure and opportunity. For young reporters, maternity wards look like a breaking story. For those of us in birth work, it’s not new.

But for families, high volume means high intervention, and physiology is the first thing to go.

The CBC headlines tell half the truth: staffing is a crisis, yes. But the deeper truth is that this system was designed for high volume, high intervention, and residency exposure.

I’ve been in birth work for 15 years. The numbers and outcomes show a pattern, a different story. The system isn’t broken, it’s functioning as intended. It prioritizes funding, teaching, and volume — not mother–baby wellness.

As my teacher reminds us:
✨ “It’s up to us to save ourselves. Call your neighbour.”

S***m Has a Rhythm. And No One’s Prescribing It.

When it comes to male fertility, everyone talks about testosterone.
But here’s the deeper truth:
🕰️ Your s***m are circadian beings.

They thrive on rhythm.
Not just on hormone levels but WHEN those hormones rise.
Not just on nutrients but WHEN you eat, sleep, and move.

🧬 S***matogenesis takes ~64 days.
It relies on precise timing signals between the brain, the te**es, and the light-dark cycle.

And guess what?

Even “women’s hormones” like estrogen, FSH, and LH play major roles in s***m development.
And all of it — ALL OF IT — is governed by your circadian clock.

Here’s the twist:
It’s not testosterone that best protects s***m.
It’s melatonin.
