B Moore Counselling

B Moore Counselling 🧠 2SLGBTQ+ affirming counsellor in Saskatoon, SK.
🏳️‍🌈 Q***r lens, everyone welcome. Je travaille aussi en français!

I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), registered with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I believe in approaching every therapy session with an open heart and an affirming, non-judgmental stance, creating a safe space for clients to share their past experiences, to gain positive perspective, and to do-away with negative beliefs or thinking patterns that are no longer serving them. I enjoy working with all people, but I am especially passionate about helping two-spirit, le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, and questioning (2SLGBTQ+) youth and young adults who are navigating sexuality, relationship, gender and sexual minority identities, and accompanying distress within a heteronormative world. In addition to 2SLGBTQ+ affirming therapies, I have personal and professional experience in working with anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, grief and loss, work stress, life transitions, and self-esteem. Outside of work, you can find me playing Dungeons and Dragons, performing in, and producing musical theatre, and spending time at home with my cat, Patrick.

A lot of therapists love to keep plants in their office, which I think is a great idea and makes a space feel incredibly serene and calming. Me, though? I struggle so very hard to keep plants alive, so instead, I have really enjoyed building some of these Lego botanicals to put in my spaces. Very pretty, but much less risk of overwatering. If you’re in need of a counsellor, follow the link in my bio to book a free consult or appointment. No wait lists or months-long gaps to book, get in right away!

I've been back from Mexico for a week. I absolutely love to get away for a break, but I also love coming home. Ultimately, I am a homebody and my home is my safe space, very good for my mental health. It certainly helps that this cuddly guy is there to greet me. Where do you like to travel? What's your safe space? Consider booking in for counselling and let's work together to process emotion in a q***r-friendly, safe space.

It's been a busy summer so far and I'm bad at posting between all the theatre, concert prep, and weddings, but I'll be back this week with more appointment availability. Come and see me! In the meantime, aromatherapy is good for mental health, right? Here's me laughing it up in a field of lavender where my good friend got married on Friday.

This resonates with me today. I am not always a ray of sunshine and I get down on myself about it. I fear that people see me as some grumpy old man. Even if some don't show it as much, we experience a range of emotions in any given day and it is OK to feel them all the way through. You don't have to be positive all the time.

Have I introduced you to my closest assistant and right hand man? His name is Patrick and he, like a lot of other pets, does wonders for mental health! So many studies back the benefit of pets on mental and physical health and best buds like Patrick are living proof. Even the feeling of having another living being in the house feels comforting. Do you have a pet who is helpful to your mental health? I'd love to see pics! .

Often times, people are hesitant to talk about or ask after mental health. Struggling with your mental health or prioritizing it is not something to hide or be ashamed of. I would like to see a world where we can talk openly and honestly about these topics!

It's time for a little elevator pitch!

Hi! My name is Brady (he/him/il). Through my own personal journey as a cisgender gay man born and raised in Saskatchewan, I learned to use self-compassion and mindfulness to overcome my struggles with anxiety, OCD and depression. As I've learned to accept my 2SLGBTQ+ identity, I know that the saying "thoughts are not always facts" holds true and I am passionate about helping other q***r folk accept who they are and overcome anything that is holding them back from living their truest, most authentic life. In addition to working with q***r folk, I am also committed to helping all people overcome excessive worrying, overwhelming sadness/depression, obsessions, and compulsions. Je travaille aussi en français!

I accept virtual clients all over Western Canada and in-person here in Saskatoon! More info at link in bio...

Tuesday nights are for Dungeons and Dragons. Counselling can be mentally taxing as can many other jobs. It's important to balance stress with activities that feed your soul (as "woo woo" as that might sound). What's the balance like in your life? Let's talk about it. DM or links in bio!
