I recently finished a BodyTalk course and I'm excited to share and practice! With sessions at an intro for $20, it's a great opportunity to experience BodyTalk. Many of you may be wondering what is BodyTalk and how can it help me? BodyTalk is a non-invasive modality that seeks to create balance within the various systems of our body, mind and spirit. Using your bodies own innate wisdom to help communicate what's going on, your body sets up a state where healing can be achieved. Instead of asking how can it help me, it's easier to ask how can't it? The possibilities are endless. For myself, I've used it a lot for back pain, stress, energy and stamina, and manifesting my true desires. But this is such a small fraction of what can come up. Message me if you're curious about something specific! Sessions can be done in person or distance, so us being in separate cities doesn't matter.

Taking in the sunrise at Joshua tree last fall… but also using as photo evidence that I’m alive and well and letting y’all know I’m still practicing BodyTalk! I have some Saturday or Sundays at open in my calendar but feel free to shoot me a message if you don’t see something that works. I’m flexible!

If you’ve been on the Broadway Health Collective site lately to book in with me you’ve maybe noticed there are no openings for awhile. With my environmental work ramping up, as it does in the summer, it’s hard for me to plan ahead for weekends to be available for BodyTalk sessions at
But that doesn’t mean my whole summer is booked!
I’ll add openings as I can! And, please reach out to me if you are wanting a session, and we can work together and find a time! In the meantime, get out there and find some summer joy!

A major common theme of sessions lately has been about letting go. It’s no surprise really, as we head into fall, the leaves show us how beautiful it can be to let go and release.

Weekend reminder that our emotions are simply energy in motion. We’re meant to feel through them. Stuck emotions and stagnation is what ends up causing us pain and stress. So whatever emotions may be stirred up today, tomorrow, and this week remember that they are neither good or bad, easy or hard, logical or illogical. Emotions are information! Emotions are innate, biologically driven reactions to certain challenges and opportunities, sculpted by evolution to help humans survive.
BodyTalk is a state-of-the-art approach to integrative mind/body medicine that considers physical, emotional, genetic and environmental influences as well as belief systems. It is based on the fact that our bodies have the ability to self-heal at all levels--mental, emotional and physical--as evidenced for example by the healing process that is automatically initiated when a person cuts a finger or twists an ankle. This automatic, self-guided healing process is part of the body's inborn intelligence, or the "innate wisdom" of the body, as we call it in BodyTalk. However, when we accumulate stressors of any kind without properly releasing them, our body-mind complex stores those negative factors and overtime its ability to adapt and self-heal becomes compromised, leading to chronic mental, emotional and physical symptoms.
When that occurs, profound and lasting healing can be achieved if we bring awareness to all the stressors we are holding onto in our bodies and let go of them thus gradually restoring our innate ability to self-heal. As a BodyTalk practitioner, I have been trained to identify the true underlying causes behind your symptoms and then use a variety of techniques to help your body fully release the unwanted stressors.

2021 is a number 5 year in numerology, and on the 5th day of the 5th month, we unlock the number code of 555.
In numerology, 5 represents freedom, change, and adventure.

Who am I? I’m Kara, and I’ve recently added three fun letters to my resume, CBP.
CBP = Certified BodyTalk Practitioner. In May of 2018, I officially certified, less than a year after beginning my BodyTalk journey. I grew up in Lloydminster, AB/SK, and later moved to Saskatoon for university. After university I spent a few years in Weyburn, only to return to Saskatoon a few years ago. I live in a condo by the river, with my fur baby Kia. I love travelling, and being outdoors. I love walking and yoga. I love eating at new places and trying new foods.
How did I get here? Well, I’m still trying to figure this one out. After receiving numerous sessions from some lovely practitioners, and seeing incredible results, the scientist in me finally had to know what was happening! How could something so simple, work so well. See I come from a very scientific, analytical background, graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, majoring in Environmental Science and Soil Science. I’ve always been curious about my world. So I began to dig deeper by taking Mindscape in November of 2016. This course cracked me open and made me realize there was so much more that I didn’t know. I took the Fundamentals course in May of 2017 and got to work. I’ve been practising for over a year now and am falling more and more in love with it every day. I’ve added other BodyTalk courses now to my plate, which allow us to dive deeper in sessions and get a greater understanding about what’s going on.
What’s next? Who knows! But hopefully you get to be a part of my journey and I get to be a part of yours!
