Have you ever said “I’ll just do a workout video on my own.”? 🤭 I get it! I’ve told myself that too… Why would you sign up and pay for an online workout class when you could just do a 1 workout video on your own.... 🤔

But you won’t. 😉

All of clients say online classes are the only way they stay consistent with exercise because it keeps them accountable, is affordable, and accessible. 👏

Moms are tired. We need to keep things simple, with minimal barriers to entry. 😅

Give online classes a try and see if it helps keep you moving every week. 💪 https://fitbump.fitbizzle.com/Shop/Products/1

Not only movement, but connection with other moms. 🤗

All age gaps have pros and cons. You need to do what works for you and your family. ♥️

I remember hearing “have kids close together” so many times in new motherhood. I remember people asking when Molly was getting a sibling. Friends I made during my first mat leave started getting pregnant with one- and two-year-olds. The pressure to have a small age gap is real.

To be honest, when ever I found out a friend with a child around the same age as Molly was pregnant I internally shuddered. Becoming a mom rocked my world. It was hard. It wasn’t until Molly was around 2 years old that I even entertained the thought of having a second child. At that time I was full on in running Fitbump (second kid vibes) and didn’t have the capacity for another baby, and in full transparency our marriage was going through a tough spot.

My girls are 6 years apart and that works for us. During the pandemic my husband and I were able to reconnect, which provided a better environment for a new baby. Molly started Grade 1 when Tessa was born, which meant I had full days at home with her instead of having to divide my attention between two kids. Molly was and still is beyond helpful as a big sister. Tessa keeps Molly young, and Molly creates so many fun play experiences for Tess. 🙏

Don’t get me wrong, there are obviously challenges to the bigger age gap. As they get older their interests are not the same, the tv shows, movies etc become more challenging to agree on. M doesn’t want to go to little kid play places anymore etc. so weekend activities can be a struggle. There are challenges with every gap!

All this to say every family needs to do what works for them. Maybe that’s an only child. Maybe that’s kids close together in age. Maybe it’s a larger age gap. Do whatever works for you! And stop commenting on people’s family planning. Mmkay??

Hands up if you’ve ever struggled to prioritize yourself in motherhood?? 🙋‍♀️

Moms are constantly fed the lie that to be a good mom they have to put themselves last, give up everything for their family and cast their own needs aside… 😒

NO. 🙂‍↔️

You need to be okay. Your kids need you to be okay. Often we have trouble putting our own needs first, but if you can’t do it for yourself – do it for them!

Staying active, moving your body, and doing things that you love will make you a better mom! 💯 You will be happier, and both physically and mentally stronger to keep up with those busy kiddos.

If you are struggling to find ways to stay active in the busyness of motherhood, ask for help. Tell your partner you need to carve out time for a workout, a class, or doing something you love.

Fitbump classes are also here for you to join from home and stay active and consistent every week. 💪 Will I see you tonight for online Bootcamp at 7:30pm? 🤔 😉

Your kids only get one mom, take care of her. ♥️

Tess and I had two hours to kill while Molly was at a birthday party downtown. We headed to .midtown and I let Tessa take the lead. We traipsed around the mall, rode up and down the escalator, and had some rides on the elevator. 🛗

Tess wanted popcorn so we hit up kernels 🍿, then we hit up A&W for root beer 🍺 and fries. 🍟

We wandered around some more then found a cake pop and smoothie to finish off our afternoon. 👍

We didn’t go into any stores, and didn’t buy anything we couldn’t eat or drink. 😆 If Molly would’ve been there I’m sure it would’ve been a different story. 🤣

The perks of having a four year old - easy to please and everything is an adventure. 🥰

We had a great class this morning at and raised $250 dollars for ! 👏

Accessing mental health services is so important, especially with the current state of the world. 😅Maternal Mental Health is something I’m passionate about, and a huge cornerstone of my business is connecting women and helping them feel less alone. ♥️

Thanks to the ladies who showed up and the mall for hosting the radiothon. 🙏 Be sure to call in and donate or show up at the mall and support this great event. 🙌

Both, and. ♥️

Motherhood is the ultimate paradox. Pulled in so many directions - thankful for AND also exhausted by it all. 🙏

Loving every moment and also questioning your life choices. 😅

Two things can be true. All feelings are valid. ♥️

Motherhood. It’s the best and hardest thing you’ll do. 🥹

With my first pregnancy I had only been in Saskatoon for a few months. I joined prenatal yoga to meet people but talking is frowned upon ha ha. 🤣 Everyone would just go to class, and leave right after. 🤷‍♀️ I was dying to connect with other people going through the same thing.

That is why I started Fitbump – A place for women to connect in pregnancy, share their experiences and work out together safely. I have many clients who met in pregnancy and carried their relationship into postpartum, and subsequent pregnancies! ♥️

Pregnancy is a wild ride, with so many changes that affect us physically, mentally and emotionally. 🤰 Every class participants share the ups and downs of pregnancy. We laugh, cry, commiserate and learn from one another, and feel less alone. 🤗

There is still space in the Thursday class – with 4 more weeks remaining! Class is held 6:30pm Thursdays at Donald Physiotherapy in Stonebridge.
