Equinox Wilderness Adventure

Equinox Wilderness Adventure Survival skills taught, 24yrs exp., shelter & tool making, ECO tours, indiv. /groups, culturally bas

So let me tell you about my experience; I’m able to construct numerous shelters in many types of environments; Identify edible, and medical flora (ethnobotany) and the process how to prepare them safely. I’ve also used and collected edibles and medicinal plants in nature. In addition, I can also construct snares, deadfall traps, pit traps, knot skills, Survival bows/crossbows, know how to make solar stills, how to collect and purify water, making wilderness teas, gardening, make lavatories in the wilderness and what to use if you got to wipe your bum, knowledge of hazards in the wilderness, how to make a wilderness survival kit, construction of fire with a Ferrocerium Rod, fire bundle, char cloth, Fatwood, and how to cook in the wilderness! Researchers have said, “Emphatically that we are happier, healthier, and developmentally superior (we learn better, quicker, retain more, and are more relaxed) when they spend consistent time in nature.”
So let the adventure begin; to the edge of excitement. Join me; so we can explore the local wilderness; integrating traditional cultural knowledge and training learned from a lifetime of experience. For in this program you and your children will be kept busy learning new skills need in this region. With space to roam and to play, we will track animals, use sustainable plants for harvesting, work with fire, tan hides and of course make tools with what is at hand. Equinox Wilderness Adventure is geared towards anyone looking to expand their skills; allowing them to survive in the wilderness, or urban environment if disaster strike; while at the same time growing in their understanding of the wilderness and Mother Earth. They will explore and adventure while learning more advanced naturalist knowledge and progressing their wilderness survival skills, and grow in confidence. Once I’m ticketed I’ll be opening a school that will run 365 days; rain or shine, for survivalism is a way of life and preparation for the unknown situation that could arise at any given time. Thusly the name, Equinox, correlating the four seasons in which I will train those willing to learn; rain shine or snow! We will expand your sensory awareness as we shall be listening for and to bird language; questioning and tracking animal forms. Journaling of what we experienced or witnessed, as well as training of Local hazards in nature as well as how to make shelter in the wilds.

June 3, 2024. In the early morning hours, look up into the heavens as six planets align. They are Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Possibly, you might be able to see these planetary objects with your naked eyes. Or you can use a telescope or high-powered binoculars to see Neptune and Uranus.

Môswa
Moose (Alces americanus)
The average serving of meat is 8 ounces. Assuming you ate three times a day, we'll say you eat 24 ounces of moose meat per day. According to Google a moose can average about 800 (but can weigh upwards of 1500 pounds!). We'll say your moose is on the smaller end and is just 800 pounds not counting bones and antlers and inedible organs. This will make your moose 12800 ounces. Divided by 24 ounces eaten per day and it comes out to about 533 days. Or about one and a half years.

The young female and mature male cones, are also edible, as well as the young shoots.
Young green or reddish cones can been eatten. The young cones are overwhelmingly strong and bitter, but eat a little at a time. Enjoy chewing on the new growth in the spring.
High amounts of vitamin C. New needles have lower concentration, while 1 year old needles has roughly 1.18 mg of vitamin C per gram, and 2 year old needles had as much as 1.87 mg.
Effective medicinal plant especially on the respiratory system.
The reason you don’t boil the needle tea is because the vitamin C is sensitive to heat and may break down into other components. It is a good idea to boil the water and pour it on top of the needles.
