Whiplash is the common name for an injury where there is a hyperextension (increased backward motion) and hyperflexion (increased forward motion) injury to the cervical spine (neck). This type of injury is common in the case of auto accidents or falls. It is important to note that this type of injury may not be felt for hours or days following the incident, but it is best to get it looked at right away by a health care professional who is trained to examine the spine and related structures.
Some signs and symptoms associated with whiplash include stiffness, shoulder/neck/arm pain, dizziness, visual disturbances, nausea, etc.
All our chiropractors here at CAHC have years of experience dealing with patients' whiplash disorders and excel at helping patients recover from such injuries. Book online today - link in our bio.
