That’s the estimated annual cost of unmanaged menopause symptoms to the Canadian economy.

So the question is: Are our workplaces inclusive of menopause?

Many women also say they don’t feel comfortable talking about menopause with their employer.

So instead of getting support, they push through symptoms that affect their sleep, mood, energy, concentration, weight, joint health, bladder function, strength, confidence, and so much more.

Very few workplaces currently have formal policies, education, or accommodations for menopause. And many women don’t realize what extended health benefits cover for physiotherapy and pelvic health support.

Sometimes the first step is simply starting the conversation.

Here’s what happens when you constantly criticize yourself:
➖Your brain activates its threat system
➖Stress hormones spike
➖You go into fight, flight, or freeze

When you respond with compassion:
➖You calm down
➖You feel safe
➖You become more resilient

Try and notice your self-talk this week.
And if it gets critical, ask yourself what you’d say to a friend.

Offer yourself that same kindness.

Everyone farts.

On average, doctors say most people fart anywhere from 10-20x per day.

If you notice more frequent flatulence along with discomfort or feelings of embarrassment, a dietitian can help you:
• pinpoint food triggers
• reduce bloating and pressure
• support digestion and gut health
• stop guessing what your body can tolerate
