Don't let a bad moment turn into a bad day.
Find joy in the tiny things. A ray of sunshine, a delightful smile on someone's face, an animal that is happy to see you. Find those tiny bits of joy and take note of them every day.
You will always find joy in gratitude. Focus on your blessings, the little things you are grateful for, and the really big things too. Switching your focus can make all the difference in your attitude, your mindset and your emotional health.

Our bodies are designed to heal in nature. The patterns in nature calm the nervous system, the negative ions in the air clear the lungs and acts as antioxidants in the body. The scent of pines and evergreens calm the whole body and triggers happiness hormones.

Conscious breathing can change your heart rate, shift your focus and calm your mood.
If I have trouble sleeping, I spend some time focusing on my breath.
If I'm upset or worried, I focus on my breath.
Breathing is free. You have to do it every day anyway, why not make the most of it?

Good quality sleep is one of your greatest investments for your health. If you have difficulty sleeping, don't delay getting extra support so you can get a good night's sleep.
Sleep is when your body cleans, detoxifies, repairs and rejuvenates every part of your body. Without adequate sleep, your mind and body falter.

Here are some of my favourite homeopathic remedies to help with a good night's sleep:
Ignatia- for sleeplessness due to grief, full of tormenting thoughts, feeling dejected and depressed
Cocculus indicus- sleepless from caregiving, worried about others, chronic insomnia
Coffea- for sleeplessness from overwork or excitement. Excellent after childbirth
Aconite- sleeplessness with restlessness, fever, fears, after a fright or shock, feeling sensitive and apprehensive
Nux vomica- sleeplessness from over indulging in too much food, liquor, from ill effects of medications or drugs, from mental strain with irritability
Kalium phos- for people who are weak and nervous with lots of worries
Pulsatilla- sleeplessness with over sensitivity- the bed is too hot, every noise wakes you, every light annoys you

Homeopathy can also help with sleep apnea, mouth breathing and snoring, as these are also big sleep disruptors.

I have to confess, I've tried so many diet trends, wanting to see if the latest and greatest diet ideas had any validity.
I can say with 100% certainty that no matter what the diet trend, it will not work better than learning what your body needs, tuning into your own cues, and paying attention to how each food makes you feel. It takes time. It takes commitment.
I like to keep t0 these simple rules:
1. Eat foods in as close their natural state as possible. Raw or cooked, minimally processed.
2. Eat your vegetables! Eat plenty of plant based fibre. Your body needs this in greater quantities than most people regularly get.
3. Get enough protein. This will vary from person to person, but I find my body feels good with around 100 grams of protein per day. This keeps me full and fueled.
4. Enjoy your food. Eat with pleasure, slow down, smell it, chew it, savour it.
5. Change things up. Don't eat the same thing every day.

I'm sorry to say it, but there are no short cuts. There's no one diet, there's no magic supplement that will fix your health.
What will work:
1. Eating whole foods, get lots of fibre and enough protein.
2. Get enough sleep. Rest more when stressed. Relax.
3. Breathe. Breathe well, breathe deeply, breathe intentionally.
4. Move your body. Increase your step count. Increase your strength. Find movement you enjoy. Work harder than you though you could. Surprise yourself.
5. Support your body with individualized supplements, homeopathic remedies and herbs that work best for you, not everyone else.
6. Get outside. Embrace the sunshine, the fresh air, surround yourself with growing plants.
7. Find joy.

Back to school anxiety? Homeopathy can help.

Back to school can mean anxiety for many. Many symptoms can appear and cause discomfort including: irritability, fear, worry, panic, crying, digestive issues, muscular tension, anger, restlessness etc.
Thankfully, homeopathy can treat many of these symptoms. Here are some fabulous remedies to help with back to school anxiety:

Acon: when there is fear of going to school marked with extreme restlessness. This is an intense and acute state.

Arg-n: anticipatory anxiety and the patient presents with loose stools.

Ars.: anxiety and fastidiousness. There is a need to remain organized and prepared for what is upcoming. These patients lack confidence.

Calc-c: anxiety with worries over insignificant things. Obstinate. Often suffers from catarrhal conditions.

Gels: anticipatory anxiety accompanied with trembling, exhaustion and feeling of confusion.

Lyc.: fear of failure and fear of mortification. Appear confident but are terrified to perform - especially in new situations.

Nat-m: for the reserved individual who is highly emotional on the inside. They like to have a friend close by.

Phos: open and exuberant people. Symptoms come on from excitement.

Puls: for those who find it difficult to deal with changing situations.
These patients require a lot of support and encouragement. They are clingy and fearful.
