🚨 Understanding How Narcan Works 🚨

Narcan (naloxone) is a life-saving medication that can quickly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. Here’s how it works:

✅ Blocks opioid receptors – Narcan attaches to the same receptors in the brain that opioids bind to, kicking them off and stopping their dangerous effects.
✅ Restores breathing – During an overdose, opioids can slow or stop breathing. Narcan helps restart normal breathing within minutes.
✅ Fast-acting but temporary – Narcan works quickly, but only lasts 30–90 minutes. Emergency medical help is still needed right away.

💡 Narcan is safe, easy to use (available as a nasal spray), and only affects opioids — it won’t harm someone if given by mistake.

This weekend!!

This year's 33rd Street Fair on Sat Sept 13th features some AWESOME FREE ENTERTAINMENT!!

We have a full lineup of live music on the Main Stage and more fabulous musicians in our Busker Station at Vintage Mall YXE.

There are 2 Street Stages this year too, in the intersections at Ave D and Ave E which feature cultural dance, karate demos, and a fabulous circus arts workshop!!

And if that's not enough, we have almost 100 vendors in our outdoor market and lots of fabulous food trucks and food vendors, as well as free activities for kids and the whole family!

C'mon out this Saturday to 33rd Street West between Avenues C & F North!
