Fingers 🖐️ I the handstand.

The fingers are like the feet, that’s how we have to think about them when we’re in our handstands. The fingers control the over position and have the ability to pull us back into balance.

The best drill is a heel pull to learn how to use the hands and to experience their power and strength went upside down.

The Elephant 🐘 walk

this is a fantastic drill that we use both in and + programming.

In gymnastics, we use this as part of the development of better handstand, kick up positioning or the press up. Any mobility we use it to develop better posterior facial line and hamstring mobility.

The beauty of the drill is that it’s very accessible, as it can be done anywhere and used as micro stretching, but which is a term used for applying stretching many times throughout the day in tiny little intervals, this greatly helps enhancing mobility with more exposure.

If you have tight hamstrings and posture your chain, you could simply add this to your day whenever you have a moment.

SHOULDER ISOLATION in the handstand 🤸🏻

this is an imperative skill to understand when developing handstand abilities.

Start with understanding a proper set up to limit variability and increase consistency in practice;
☑️ fingers and hands
☑️ upper back
☑️ chest compression
☑️ shoulders over mid hand

Followed the above four steps for much more consistent, handstand work, especially when working on balances.

Mobility 🤸‍♂️ matters!

If you want to move better, and simply feel better one of the things that most people need are greater ranges of hip mobility. In this example, we’re discussing hamstring or hip flexion mobility.
Try this test at home can you lie flat on your back and raise a straight leg up to 90°…. If you can’t, you need more mobility plus in your life. Come join us for a free week of classes to experience with our class set up and programming is all about.
